I understand that bandwidth costs money
I'm glad to see that you understand that bandwidth cost money, but surely you must also see that someone must pay for that bandwidth whether it's a lump 50Meg or a daily limit.
BTW Your Welcome, I, as well as many other paying subscribers, are glad that we have been able to subsidize your awesome looking wallpaper collection.

I'm just wondering. $20 for 2 years is really cheap. How much do you pay for your internet connection in 1 months?
I always have a strange feeling when people say "i don't have the money for it", while it is only $20 for 2 years.
I you can't pay $20 i think you also can't afford internet.....

BTW, I work at home so having a net connection is not an option, I need it. People seem to not think beyond their own situation.

$20 may not be a lot to you, but it is to someone who sees it as 4 days worth of food.
If you think $20 is a lot, you should see the bandwidth bills for a site that does this kind of traffic. Should Wincustomize just let everyone freeload because $20 is a lot of money for some of us right now?
Believe me, I am not criticizing you or making light of your situation. I'm right there with ya right now... not sure if I'll be able to renew my OD subscription on time. >

#7 by Citizen LA Werewolf - 1/10/2004 6:20:34 PM Wow, that's simply just not true about money! I couldn't update my wincustomize subscription for months because, oh let me think, I wanted to eat and maintain a roof over my head in a bad economy. I was only able to do that last month (and is was $35).
You're confusing the WC subscription with the ObjectDesktop subscription renewal....... 2 different things entirely.

I wasn't looking at it as freeloading, I don't think that way.
I forgot to mention that I'm sure that the b/w bills are high. I have a web site and it wasn't cheap, I understand. I was just trying to explain that not everyone is a "freeloader." Some people have just hit really tough times in this economy with many, many computer jobs gone. I was giving Todd and others the benefit of the doubt because I was just there.

Thanks LA Werewolf. I just like to look at all the wonder work that people are capable of. Most are truely gifted and should be encouraged to develop their talents. Times are tuff now and hopefully by Summer, it will be better. Rent not cheap, can't afford a car and the pay is crap.
Yes, DeviantArt is another place that I visit. Sites like these, give people away to show what they have done and let others take it for what it is. A part of themselves.
As for Hy♠Rolr, thank you. But I broke my back in a car accident on 31 July 1999. Yes, I can still walk but was very lucky. Can't do that shoveling thing that you suggested. Doctor's restrictions say bend/twist one hour during an eight hour workday. Just think how much bending and twisting you do during an eight hour workday. Now try to find a job, not to mention the Doctor's weight restrictions. Did I forget to mention the pain that at times it's hard to breathe.
All that I am saying, I'm not a freeloader, nor do I want handouts. It's just that everybody's situation is different. I was just caught off guard by the change in policy. And one day, I would like to purchase Photoshop to start working on my own Walls. I have an Art and Photography background (that doesn't get used) and the Walls that I have seen on the net, make me wonder what I could design.
Anybody like peanut butter and toast? That's what I live on.

You guys take everything for granted. What if my parents were not alive? I have been on my own since I was 18 years old. Now I'm 41. Been there, did that, etc. My Mommy and Daddy don't buy me anything anymore as I am old enough to make my own way through this world. If I want something, I earn it! And by the way, I have the basic phone, cable and internet which gives me a deal as I have all three through the same provider.

There are some changes coming about in the near future and that might be one of them, a daily limit or some such.
But that is just a possibility from an outside view (not being a part of the process)...
Of course I suppose there is always holidays and birthday gifts which is an option for an account, just a thought.
DeviantArt is another site you might want to look over for walls and such while your browsing the net. Some really fantastic walls there also if you haven't been there before
