A small personal, prayer request...

Saturday, March 15, 2003 by Angel_Wings | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

I hate to get too personal here but I know a lot of kind and decent folks read these threads and so it is to your hearts that I speak...

Please, if you can...send a small prayer...good vibe...good thought etc. to my two little nephews (ages 7 and 2) who lost their daddy to suicide yesterday evening. (My eldest nephew was the one to find him). I'm just in complete shock...and horrified. I didn't/couldn't sleep all night.

Anyway, I won't drag this out...I'm just feeling so heart-broken for my nephews right now...Those poor babies have been through so much already...and now this? I just can't fathom the selfish act of suicide especially in that way...it hurts me to the core...

Please lift these innocent babies up in your heart and keep them safe with your prayers...they will need it.

-Angela

No one can predict or prevent a massive earthquake. They occur on their own timetable... and without warning. Ask anyone who lives in Los Angeles, San Francisco or Japan.

And personal disasters are the same way. The devastation strikes without warning and we’re left shattered. Like those who survive a catastrophic earthquake, we’re left to wander through the rubble... trying to salvage what’s left.

You have recently experienced your own personal disaster.

Seek comfort in the Lord and gain strength from His Word. There’s power in His Word to overcome disaster and fear. I’ve found comfort from a verse in Isaiah 41 so many times in my life. Listen...

“Do not fear, for I am with you; do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you.”

A colleague at work lost his wife to a particularly brutal suicde, leaving a 10 year old son just a couple of weeks ago so your situation is particularly close just now.

It's so difficult to express to Pat just how much we empathize with his loss - especially as he needs to be there for Liam (his son). I know you are doing what you can to be there for your nephews. God go with you. Big hugs and not a few tears.

My older brother recently hung himself during an extremely nasty divorce.... his only note was where to locate his work tools.. I feel so sorry for his son who found my brother after several days only to discover this lame note also....
He had to convince the Police to break into the place and that wasn't easy.....

Everyone is doing much better and again thank you all for your support and kindness... The healing/grief process takes time and everyone should be allowed to get through it at their own pace.

Angel_Wings just tries to keep thinking positive...and the kind thoughts and well wishes truly help in making that possible.

People all suffer some sadness at some point in their lives unless they live in a plastic bubble...which is why we can identify and empathize with each other and try to help where we can if only to say "You'll be okay" etc.

And I ain't EVEN steppin' NEAR that war thread!

Angel_Wings is staying away from the news too for now

Off to work on an Easter cursor that Keila suggested I do.

(((HUGS))) To all who need one (I've got a cold so I'll keep ya at fooball field length)!

Angel_Wings !

P.S. And anyone else who needs to hear it, "You'll be okay. One step at a time."
