jep MM did indeed a cover of it... don't like AC/DC verry much, Listen to MM sometimes... some of his text's are pretty good... also like HIM ever hird of HIM?

He was also a huge Bowie fan David was/is something, and a fav...
MM did pretty good just not being beat up constaly, he grew up in Readneck land, and I mean Boss Hog crocked Sherif and all. Real card carrying rednecks in Bradington, though it is evolving more every other 10 years

Good and Evil both have something in common, it is that what we define as either evolve over time. There's no definite black and white, and there never will be

How do we acquire knowledge of what is good and evil in the first place? Is it something we just learn? When do we know that something is good?

if social acceptability were the arbiter, there would never have been an Underground Railroad set up to free slaves from the legal, socially accepted fate in which they suffered in the 1800s. People know what evil is. people under the Nazi regime did not converse socially about the concentration camp operating 2 miles outside of their town. the camp may have been socially accepted, but at some level people knew that evil was occuring inside the camp.

BKB, it may sound harsh, but if the Nazis would have won the war, concentration camps would not be considered evil today. If slavery had not been abolished, slavery would not be considered evil today.
Maybe 500 years from now, money will be abolished, and they will look at our times as evil times, where there were rich people neighbouring starving people. Maybe 500 years from now, they will consider us Evil to have poluted the planet like that. Maybe 500 years from now, sex will be abolished (thanks to cloning), and our reproduction methods may be considered Evil.
Did you know that there were African tribes that didn't know the word "to have" in their language. The whole concept was totally strange to them. But we colonised them. We won, they lost. Now we are the good guys, and they were the Evil savages.
History is on the winner's side. And of course, the winner is always good.

for me, evil is perception, as is good...
There are no absolutes because no matter how one would like to apply society at large to a given issue questioning the good or evil of an action or lack of action, one must in turn look inside to find what the own as their personal truths about it.
That is where trouble steps in, when things are perceived as a collective, it removes the personal accountability for subscribing to group action, ignoring, and later a path to justification of it.
We didn't know, yes it smelled like something out of what I would envision the lakes of fire in hell would be like, but we never spoke, and so forth.
Collateral Damage is another collective acceptance of what many would see as evil if it in fact was their loved ones killed, and yet when it is someone seen as an enemy it *is* socially acceptable and justified by the common statement *it happens in war, we did not cause this war, etc* but does that diminish the fact that this action is a prime example of the double standards society will put into play to be good, opposing evil?
Dresden, the war was over, there was no reason to fire bomb it, were the allies only getting some back?
Was it evil for doing so?
If it was/is in fact evil, was there any real acceptance of responsibility and accountability for it?
The price the NAZI supports must have had to pay for there even being a chance of forgiveness?
Conversely, 9/11 and all those that died, the actions of the terrorists were in fact evil, but no less than a tank firing 50cal machine guns into a crowd of stone throwing kids, or any less oppressive than being pulled over, vehicle searched, person searched and then told to have a nice day, just because you happen to be a black 20 year old male driving a $20,000 - $30,000 car. Which ends up being justified because of perceptions....

Each day we wake up, *we* create whom we will be and what kind of world we will choose to live in. I hope in the near future it will be one where the question of good or evil is nothing more than a discussion of the past in wonder of how it ever took so long to get beyond the need of it...

There is always good and bad.
No matter how we explain it or we feel it, no matter what we have learn about it or what the history says about it, it is always present as long as we are humans.
If you don't know what is really good or bad, you better listen to your self, is the best teacher for you, there is no way to make a mistake, because even the mistake is the best way for you to learn
So why bother about good or bad? Just be your self.

I believe some things are socially accepted and some are not. And what is socially accepted varries in time and geography. It even varries in certain circumstances.
Kill in the street, it's murder. Kill on a battlefield, it's heroic.
