Military Action Begins..

Regardless of your position on military action in Iraq, I think everyone would agree that hopefully that the action will be as brief as possible with as few casualties as possible. Our thoughts are with both coalition forces (USA, UK, Australia mainly), their families, and the Iraqi civilians.

I have a couple things to say:
1. He's President, we're not . . . we put him in office whether each of us specifically voted for him or not . . . we MUST trust His leadership. No matter how much we think we know about everything surrounding the situation in Iraq, our President and his intelligence know more than we do.
2. Prayer changes things. I'm a firm believer that God holds the world in His Hand and He knows exactly what's going on. Belief and faith in Jesus Christ and the ability to have answered prayer (Mark 11:24, James 5:16) make a difference in the lives of those at home and those in the midst of war.

Speaking as an Army and Gulf War vet, I find it amazing that someone could say they are "against" what the US & Brittan are doing in Iraq, but "Support" the troops over there. I don't know of any job that makes you feel supported when people say they hate what you are doing. (Ask the IRS about that). Those people need to feel what they are doing is of value. That is the greatest level of support we can give them. If someone can not do that then don't insult our troops by saying you support them, rather say you don't blame them, that would be closer to the truth.

The people who claim to this war is about taking over Iraq and stealing oil tend to be the least informed about the situation. Every anti-war person I have seen speak does not at all seem to have the facts straight or don't know the facts in the first place. They are just against war in Iraq because they are against all wars. They live in a dream world were world peace can be gained by joining hands and singing "Give Peace a Chance".

I support our troops. I support our President. I am so proud of our armed forces. God bless America. God bless our armed forces. God bless President Bush. God Bless our Vets.
We just had a 'peace' rally here in Cleveland and this one peacenik made it into todays paper. This guy is a member of the american communist group and his statement to the reporter was 'the only army we should support is the one that is against this government'. People were arrested for getting violent and damaging property. This is who these peaceniks are.
We also had a 'support our troops' rally. Thousands showed up. Patriotic music was played. No one got arrested. No one got hurt. Nothing was vandalized.

Scotty- If you were talking about my comment. You misunderstood me. I am NOT against what the US & Brittan are doing. I don't like war. Do you? Sometimes war is necessary. Like now. I support what the President and our troops are doing. My family are vets (Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines). They all have gone to war. I don't like people rallying in the street protesting and I don't like them burning the flag. People have fought and died for their rights. I'm sorry I didn't make myself clear.

If you're opposed to the American invasion of Iraq, go join the Iraqi military forces. I'm sure they'll willing put you in front of a tank. If your French, bring your entire armed forces. Bring your air force, bring your fleet, hell bring the Gremans too.
I saw video of an Iraqi citizen beating on a portrait of Saddam, in a town already liberated by U.S. Marines. That clip said more to me than all the demonstrations around the world.

I am not American (I am Mexican). I've lived all my life in the Mexico-U.S. Border, between Juarez and El Paso, TX. I am not Anti-American. I can't be. My sisters and their families are Americans and I have a couple of relatives that were in the military. I am definately NOT Pro-Bush. I am aware that Saddam Hussein is not a nice person.
My opinion is that in times like these it would help if people kept a cool head. There is no use in name-calling or blame-shifting. There are valid reasons to allow this war, even if the motives are completely un-related and hypocritical (sp?)
I don't mean to sound harsh, but anyone who believes this war is about *freedom* or *democracy* is being naive. No war in the history of man kind has been about anything less than money, no matter how they spin the PR.
However that does not change the fact that the war has started, and people will be killed. Unfortunately I learned a long time a go that violence creates violence; and suffering creates suffering. So LOVE one another. I love everyone (I know it sounds sappy and corny). Americans, French, Iraqui's, English, Martians.... Respect one another. I refuse to hate and cause harm.
And yif ou believe in a higher power, like I do, call it God, Jesus, Ala, Zen, The Great Spirit, whatever... pray that he has mercy on us all, and that "it" forgives us for bein unable to stop these two madmen. This planet is not that big, but we still need to live together.

I have been boycotting French products. I don't think I have ever bought anything from France before but I am definetly avoiding anything from France ever since Chirac pissed me off. I'd rather have Freedom Fries and Freedom Toast than french fries and french toast.

My family and i just heard Bush's statement on television how this war will be longer and more expensive than anticipated.
I don't really feel that America will be successful in killing Saddam and his sons if this is the intent of this war. bombing the hell out of Bagdad and the remainder of Iraq will only leave the people there homeless while Saddam hides in one of his many underground headquarters -- all tucked in and safe from any bombs.
Not only that- but after this long bloody war- America better be prepared for the same holocaust happening in our country with a more aggressive, successful terrorism from Iraq and Aphganistan that will make 9/11 look like a small fender bender.
And we won't have any friends and allies left to help us- as Bush practically threw up his middle finger at the United Nations and the rest of the World.

Only an idiot would think that the inspectors are doing any good. Only an idiot would think that more diplomacy would help. What the hell do you think has been going on for the last 12 years, let alone the last 18 months.
I am glad we finally has a leader like President Bush who is willing to do what is right. I am glad he went ahead even without the UN. The UN is useless, 12 years of Saddam torturing his own people and countries like France breaking sanctions prove that.
The US was attacked. The President laid it out on 9/20. You are with us or you are against us. Maybe we should have waited til Saddam rolled through Paris like Hitler did.
Ohh, thats right - Saddam would not do that because Iraq and France are friends. France after all has been buying oil from Iraq against UN sanctions. France also built nuclear reactors for our buddy Saddam.
