I have Cancer...

Some of you might know me via this website and some might not. I don't mean to bring everybody down but I need to vent. I was diagnosed with cancer in the rectum and liver back in May of this year. I finished my Chemo Therapy 3 weeks ago. All the tumors have shrunk to some degree. I'll tell you if any of you have gone through chemo, it's a son of a bitch. I felt extremely tired all the time , I had a bad taste in my mouth that prevented me from tasting food correctly. It was so bad towards the end that for the last month I could only eat Cambells chicken noodle soup and green beans three times a day because that was all I can taste. I was constantly fainting that resulted in bumps and bruises from hitting the floor. I went from weighing 286 lbs to 206 lbs. I feel so sorry for the little kids that have to deal with this.(I see alot of this in the local news)When you're dealt with something like this it changes your life. I've been thinking about what I want to change and improve my life for the better if I get out of this cancer free. I've tried to stay positve, but damn it's real hard to. The scary thing is my Mom died of cancer last year.
The bad news is that my Cancer Doctor told me today that the cancer might have spread to my bones. I go for a bone scan next week to find out for sure.
I don't know where I'll be in a month, year, but I just want to say I've enjoyed reading the forums although I didn't reply alot. Alot of posts made me laugh. Alot funny people out there in Wincustomize Land.

jarget I'm so sorry to read this and will be thinking of you. I know what it's like to suffer with ill health, as I have various ailments myself, but I cannot begin to imagine how you feel because mine pale much in comparison. I can only hope that you are as comfortable as you possibly can be and can enjoy some quality of life.

jarget, I'm sorry to hear this. It's a terrible thing to have to go through. I hope you can keep your hope strong and your spirits high. My wife and my sister both survived cancer, and they have normal lives again, so I know hope is real. I'll pray for you.

As someone who has a close family member suffering from cancer, I know what you are going through.
I hope your quality of life improves and that you will enjoy many more good years. Never give up, Bone cancer can be slowed down almost to a complete halt with hormone surpressing shots.

I am real sorry to hear about your sad news. My mother had Breast Cancer and had to go through chemo and eventually had a breast removed. I know exactally how painful and scary it must of been because i saw what she went through. She did go into remission and lived several more years which i am so thankful to God that we had those years with her. I wish you well and spiritual guidance and pray that you will get better. {{{{{hugs}}}}}

i'm so sorry to hear.. i will definintely remember you when we do our Relay For Life walk here next year (walking for cancer survivors and those that lost the battle) i really understand where you are coming from... i work at a vet clinic and we do chemo therapy there for dogs (hardly cats) but it's really hard for us there because we become so attached to our patients sometimes.. it's hard. my great grandma had breast cancer.. (i'm not blood related though) but have known others with it also, and my sister had a friend pass away because of Leukemia (he was only in 9th grade!) will always keep you in my prayers ((((((another hug)))))))

Joe...I'm sorry to hear that...though I haven't been in the same situation, a very close friend was diagnosed with Hodgkin's....and to cap it off she was pregnant at the time...so chemo and radio had to wait...
She's been 'clear' now for 20 years....so things are looking up....
I hope you have equal fortune.
In the meantime we're here....as a mild diversion....

One of my early childhood's friends was diagnosed with light cancer and chemo worked out good for him. I hope it does the same for you jarget. Stay strong and positive.
