Download limit?

Is 50mb a monthly limit, or does that mean i will never again be able to download from you unless i purchase a Stardock product or subscribe?

Yes, it means your 50meg TOTAL dl limit has been reached.....though in your case that's 100meg.
By subscribing and/or becoming a Stardock customer...ie...purchasing the proggies for which 'most' of the site content is provided you will gain access to unlimited downloads....

hehe. also, you get a higher download cap, equivalent to that of the files you upload. just something i noticed, but i think that the 50 meg cap should refresh every so often, or at least give us BROKE people something!

I COULD afford 19.95 for subscribtion, but, i don't think i would spend money on something virtual.

No, computer isn't virtual. Software and files are.
I've never spent money for anything virtual, except for the software that came pre-installed on my comp.

Actually, it's a shareware version. The idea is that you can try it out and see if you like it before you buy it. 
You miss out on some of the best features of WindowBlinds skins with the shareware version. It's well worth the $20, although the whole Object Desktop suite for $50 is an even better deal.

So what you are saying is that if you need a software either for school or work, you'll get a bad grade or risk loosing jobs just because it didnt come pre-installed on you PC?

Don't you mean you wouldn't spend money on something that you think you might be able to get for free? I suppose you only watch the television channels that you can get with the antenna? Or have you got "shareware" cable? And how about the electricity that runs your computer? Seems pretty virtual to me.

I've never experienced a situation like that. The only software that i've needed in my school work, Word, came with my comp (and i replaced it with OpenOffice.Org).

I think you all raise valid points, I dont really like buying anything online for a start, but to have this amount of downloads to make my computer look fantastic, I recon it would be worth the $20, or in my case, being australian... I think thats $30, no good at currency...

That's my understanding.
If after downloading 50 mb of content you don't think it's worth $19.95 US then one would assume you probably are not interested in the content. I would strongly suggest that if you would miss being able to download material you go ahead and forego a movie w/ popcorn and invest in the website with the savings. Personally, it's been probably the best $20 I've spent since I was in the Navy.
