to each his own i say.
i guess sum havent heard the phrase "if u dont have any thing nice to say its best to not say anything".
while i agree the squared glossy themes get a little redundant, they are of good quality and nice to look at ... definately not crap....

j/k Not quibbling with your ideas per se, but jeez you'd probably could incite more interest for some one to work with you if you exercised a tad more tact.
Although you do appear to like some of essorant's work so that's a redeeming feature.
The GUI Olympics likely will be an occasion for people to pull out the stops and do the tour de force thing so I'm guessing there won't be many really minimalistic skins. But perhaps someone will submit some adventures in minimalism just to widen the variety of works.

| the closest I've seen to what I think people with real taste are looking for. |
Hmmm - whilst I agree with you that a lot of themes/skins here (and everywhere else) tend to be of a kind (guilty myself) this phrase implies that what you like is the only thing that can be "real taste"...and of course anything you don't like is poor taste by definition then. On that attitude I couldn't disagree with you more.
As an example of something I'm trying to do to be different, see this thread: https://www.wincustomize.com/msgboard.asp?BID=WCS&id=251880 - though, I think I'd agree with you didn't call this theme "good taste"
