Ratings are a JOKE!

I know it's been said by many before, but I'm gonna rant some more.
This rating system is so corrupt. I submitted an Icon(Adobe CS) 1/21/04 an recieved the infamous "6" then sign in today and notice that it's been downgraded to a "4", 5 days later. PLEASE!! What a joke. The system is pathetic here and everyone knows it. Get rid of the "Ratings" and let the members decide on their own whether they like it or not. Until I see a change, I refuse to submit any of my hard work and time to this caos.

Stumpy...ratings are 'needed' to assist in filtering works when there becomes so many in each section....more-so now than even before.
Perhaps in a less 'open' environment ratings could have been applied and just no-one be informed they were in place.....what you didn't know couldn't hurt you....but alas....

Rips are rips and should be reported, and taken away from the library. Unless you got permission included...My point was sometimes people get a low rating and your average drops after only 2 rates, read my earlier post on this. I took your 1, as an example. To you maybe a rip gets a 1, better report I'd say..And to give higher rates to a rip that is well done..ahum. It was just beside the point I was trying to put forward.

I have to say that a 2 is a little bit low rated, I think I would give it a 4-5.
I doubt if it is created from scratch, if not it shouldn't be up here.
If you would just improve one little thing I would rate it a 6 or something but take a second and look at the round cornors... they arent round, they are squared !!

i prefer more comments and constructive criticism than ratings, that way, i can improvise my work to suit others better.

wow. good idea. that would give me a chance to see whos rating my skin and how. i mean; i dont want some 9th grader giving one of my skins a 2 just because he has a membership...

I've long said ratings and comments should be linked. No hiding place! If you give a low rating, fine, but say why. On what basis are you giving a rating? It should be on merit, nothing else.
For me, as said before, I award the following:
Skill level - 3 marks
Functionality - 3 marks
Appearence - 3 marks
With 1 further mark for something exceptional which has already gained 9 max from the other categories.

Sometimes it can be frustrating to have mixed ratings. My latest skin was a 8 after two ratings, at the next it was a 6 - you can add and divide that using fingers It now 7 after nine ratings, so things even out eventually.
It would be nice to have enough ratings to loose, say, the two highest and two lowest ratings. That would even out the anomalies. Sadly not enough people rate to do that

I do kinda wonder how your library is empty but you have an apprentice level, though I've seen it before with dreamdesign3d when he simply deleted everything.
I more wonder why you think it's questionable for me to rate a rip a 1, and questionable for me to rate it anything else higher than a 1. In my eyes yes rips are rips, but we will always have to deal with it. There is FAR too much for us to filter through it all, and even worse prove it by providing the original. So when I can prove it, I report. If I can't I use the best judgement I am able to.
What else can one ask of another?

Probably is, he shoulda said, "fine arts" as anyone I see on this site I assume use this site. Of course it could be possible he changed his name too I suppose.

horiz0n.....it's pointless to rate ripped work at any level, '1' or '10' for that matter.
The correct action is to notify an Admin of its existence and have it 'rated' correctly, namely 'removed', perhaps along with its author....
