Sadness

Wednesday, January 21, 2004 by bmetelsky | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

I know that I am not a very frequent contributer to the site (although I have been around since the beginning), but wanted to share that my father passed away this morning at 1:20am from pnuemonia. He was 76 years old, sufferred from Alzheimer's, and was at the hospital to recieve radiation treatment for cancer on his nose. It was unexpected that he should go this way, however, I am sure he is in peace. I have never had to deal with grief of this magnitude in my life. Please keep my family in your prayers or thoughts.

Very sorry to hear this william, My father in law died just before Christmas, (cancer) so we know how you feel.

I can only tell you to concentrate on the good memories, not the end. They will be the things you hold on to and treasure always.

Awwwwww. I'm sorry. I know you must miss him terribly.

My Mom passed not long ago and she, too, had problems with Alzheimer's. I missed her a lot but soon i started noticing parts of her in my siblings. And we (my Mom and me) were close enough I could sense her with me still...

I know it is an exquisite pain, seeing someone in the position where they are lost from their own mind. It's a loneliness you never quite can comfort for them. I came to see that perhaps Mom was free now, not in pain.

My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I can understand very well, we are going through a similar phase .... Dementia and Altheimers are really evil.

I am sorry about your loss bmetelsky.

My father had a mild heart attack a couple of years back and I remember sitting outside his bedroom door at night for nearly a month just to hear a sound from him and comfort myself.

I cannot begin to comprehend the enormity of your loss, I can just pray that God gives you the strength to bear the pain...

Bmetelsky....

Hang on to those wonderful memories you have, of when your father was healthy and happy.
They will comfort you at times you need them. Treasure them always.

My sincerest condolences to you and your loved ones, and may your grief be short.

My dad died about 13 years ago and not a day goes by that I don't think about him. But as time goes by the pain you are feeling now will lessen. My condolences to you and your family.
