What do you think about Nuclear Weapons?
Monday, November 24, 2003 by joetheblow | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk
I think they are passé. There is no reason to develop better ones or for that matter make more of them.
I can think of one reason to make better ones and that is to blow up asteroids or meteors that threaten the Earth with impact.
A nuclear bomb is not going to scare a terrorist because terrorist use different tactics and use the community as their shield/catalyst.
So is there any reason why someone would approve new better nuclear bombs?

This is what Styl Skinner was talking about. This was a big thing during the cold war. If the US had bombed the USSR they would have reacted with a barrage of nuclear missiles targeted on the US and it would cause global chaos and destruction. Chain reaction type stuff. Real scary. The same thing goes on today but we're friends with russia now, so we dont have much to fear from them. And Russia and the US have the two largest stashes of nuclear weapons on the planet still. We just have to worry about the smaller countries trying to get some leverage.
Nuclear weapons are bad. Period. And as long as theyre around there will always be some form of terrorism. The US is guilty of it too. We scare other countries into doing what we say because we still have the largest and most powerful armed forces. And its scary for me because if we did have a global nuclear attack im sure that i would be one of the first to go due to the fact I live real close to Strategic Air Command which controls almost 1/3 of all the nuclear weapons in the US.

Ahh but I digress... Sorry... yeah, nukes suck! Solar power's the answer, not nuke power. Not clean enough.
Nanobot's and immortality? Glad we don't have the technology to make this possible yet. In this world? No thanks....

| craeonics, that is rather sad to read... |
not really. man has done more to harm this planet then any other form of life. things like pullution, cloning, cutting down rain forests, genetic research, mutatations... all of that man has done or is doing and the planet is suffering.
the planet would be better off without man. give me the button, i will be happy to push it as long as the first nuke hits california.
