What do you think about Nuclear Weapons?

I think they are passé. There is no reason to develop better ones or for that matter make more of them.
I can think of one reason to make better ones and that is to blow up asteroids or meteors that threaten the Earth with impact.
A nuclear bomb is not going to scare a terrorist because terrorist use different tactics and use the community as their shield/catalyst.
So is there any reason why someone would approve new better nuclear bombs?

Konda, you should chek out Lou Dobbs on MSNBC's Money Line tonight, he is A Political and is on Americas side, not any politicians which is not one and the same (( America is not US Politicians, Special Interest groups of Political Parties) not anywhere near the same).

I'm just saying that there is a tendency to say war isn't good for anything but it does have a value.
I think if we understood the value, then possibly we would have less of them (wars).
I guess I am trying to be poetic. War is good for something; to understand that you come out the looser whether you win or not.
Maybe if there was more of an understanding of that we would, still make weapons, but maybe not so many of them, or 'improve' them so much.

The much quoted and much mis-understood 'suitcase' nuke is about as minimilistic as you can get ..... that aside a standard frag grenade is not a nice thing to have dropped in one's pocket!

I am not a tree hugger, and I am not an extream liberal, but this crap in Florida where they are attempting to kill the law requiring all weapons sold to and from Pawn Shops be entered into a registration Database is about ignorant...
Guns should be tracked when sold at Pawn shops, number one how in the hell are they going to know if the weapons are stolen or not, number two how can they check to see if a gun being sold to a pawn shop was one used in a murder?

I'm not sure about how other states conduct business but Florida's Pawn shops are required to copy a current drivers licence, obtain a finger print from the person and a manatory federal weapon background check is conducted at the persons expence before one can pawn or sell a gun. The only way to tell if a gun was used in a crime is to have a national data base of ALL GUNS balistics that were manufactured within the past 100 years. Some manufactures are now including balistics with new gun purchases but does not address the millions of guns already in peoples homes.I don't believe the public is ready for the brown shirts to start knocking on everybodys doors to conduct balistic tests at the gun owners expence. I just pawned a gun on Monday.

But since Florida is now a Devoted Republican state which means it is a NRA state they are going to push constantly while a Jeb Bush rapes the sate...
I got a kick out of Jeb Bush trying to take credit for the 10,20 Life when it was the Dem before him who pushed it through...

Its great except for grammar.
Now about nuclear weapons...
I believe the line: "War, what is it good for? Absolutely nothing." Is very poetic but a crock.
War, just like any fight or disagreement is obviously good for one thing and that is to let you know you should not get to the point of fighting that you are in one because you loose.

Yes I know, its simplistic, but there is some truth in it... or for that matter allot of truth in it to abstract.

What? So you never make a mistake? You don't have the common courtesy to answer something you did wrong?
Anyway, I'm rambling. Weapons are tools. Making more tools when you have the tools to do the job is kinda funny. I understand replacing some, but what is the result?
I think we should be working on a different system to work things out then blow each other up.
As I wrote before, I can understand some of this weaponry, but not making new nuclear weapons. Mega super ton bombs are not very useful for much of anything (except blowing up meteors)
The M.O.A.B. is pretty cool for those bunkers if they are in those bunkers in the first place.
