Assuming it is just the use of the full rating range......where I for one would just reject the work rather than post it at a low of 2 or 3....there really is no problem....people 'should' just be rating the works when they are made public...as usual....and IF the wall is better than whatever an admin may have posted...then it will ultimately be graded accordingly.
What would people prefer.....posting something rated 'fairly' or just maintain the cull as always....and never see the work at all?
Interesting conundrum, eh, what?....

It sounds like you're just trying to justify an admins out of control actions.
Doesn't seem right that 'One' Admin can go through and say...this is pure "Crap" click 1,click 1,1,2,2,1,1
Honestly...I really don't care about the ratings stuff...This just seemed a little out of line...that's all

The 'default' 6 is auto-loaded for those whose work DOES NOT go through moderation......my stuff for example gets an auto '6' which usually means no-one ever rates my work at all....even the admins will generally not even notice it's there....and the same goes for them....many of BoXXi's walls went up and I didn't even know they existed....because they hadn't gone through the moderation list.
Pretty well the best rating I have put on a work through moderation is a '10'.....and the worst was a 'do not upload anything like this again or your account will be deleted', but usually the lowest not to be rejected outright is about a '3'.
Many of you who go through moderation receive a '7, 8 or 9 or 10'.....which can be seen as quite legitimate, yet the auto-loaded '6' is quite often quite unfair.....either high or low [the script doesn't have skinning experience]...but perhaps averages out over all the person's submissions.
I'm not 'covering someone's butt'....I'm TELLING people that an admin has exactly the same right to an opinion of the standard of work as anyone else....

Actually, all the Admins are volunteers. The only people who get paid for running the site are the programmers (programming doesn't work well on a volunteer basis.)
Yep, I'm at home right now recovering from surgery reading this (because I volunteer like all the other admins). All I can speculate is that the walls have a more relaxed moderation now. So, now instead of a "3" rated wall being rejected, it's accepted, but with the "3" (or 2 or 1) that it actually deserves. Sounds crappy, but it's true. And, as mentioned before, there is no automatic "6" rating. All ratings through moderation are discussed then accepted with an appropriate rating. All Journeymen and higher get auto-uploaded with a "6".

Yes, human beings submit stuff too and the hardest job for all the admins is not just having to moderate but having to decide what stays and goes as far as walls and what to rate it accordingly. Would anyone have the time or fortitude or gonads to do that job and keep their sanity? It takes a LOT of guts to be able to do that and do it without going a bit crazy.
Some of our walls were rated fives by the admins and later other folks gave it better ratings that we were most grateful for but we'd have still been proud to have a wall here at all even a rated 5 one.
Must Wincustomize.com be the most perfect site on the planet to appease the masses and even then won't people complain or nag or think up conspiracies? Anything that is popular is bashed because there will always be some bitterness and some hurt somewhere along the line. Some of our cursors weren't rated well by the admins but we didn't feel cheated or hurt...we just figured they want us to improve and get better which we are trying to do. Sure, other kind folks come along and rate us better later on down the line but we WANT to improve and get better. Don't we all? It is very heart-warming and rewarding when people like what you've done...and I understand it's upsetting when stuff doesn't get seen because of a low rate...especially after a LOT of hard work but to get discouraged to the point that you bite the very hand the feeds you and nurtures your artistry is just...wrong.
To us this is a place of learning and brother/sister-hood. Right? This is a place to share and to give and to take as well.
SOrry, we didn't mean to turn this into a weird manifesto...but a great place like this doesn't deserve so much bashing. It doesn't accomplish much at all. And people who even claim their "frustration and anger" towards this site still love it or they wouldn't keep visiting it. NO?
Now let's all play in the sandbox together and get along!
