What is your favorite food from the land you hail from and the recipes for others to try?
----------------

Mine would have to be Balsamic Salmon with Portibella Mushrooms...

2 tbsp cooking oil of your choice
1 large clove garlic, crushed
2/3 rd cup Balsamic Vinegar
1/3 rd cup mustard, Spiced is best

Lemon Pepper to flavor...

1 fillet Salmon

mix oil, garlic, mustard and vinegar well, pour into container large enough for Salmon to marinate in, place Salmon in and let sit for 15 minutes, flip and let sit another 15 minutes.

Steam fresh long cut green beans.
In sauce pan put 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1 tbsp lemon juice and 3 tbsp butter (or substitute as like) melt and stir.

Place Salmon on broil pan with foil under it on 425 degrees for 45 minutes, keep an eye on it, ovens differ in cooking time.

Boil Red skin potato's in chunks, drain, mash in serving bowl.
Add contents of sauce pan over beans.

Take remainder of marinade and mix 1 cup sliced/washed protibella mushrooms into it.
Sauté mushrooms until you like them for firmness.

remove Salmon, cut into portions on serving plate and cover with mushrooms, place beans on plate and douse with Butter sauce as desired, potato's fix as you like.

a good Chardonnay Pinto Grigio such as Luna di Luna goes well with this, or a full bodied Merlot for those liking more fullness....

anyway....

Meatloaf. With alot of extra tomato sauce. Add red and green bell peppers, onion, and mushrooms. Next for veggies a hot potato and corn on the cobb. Don't forget the fried okra. (Bell peppers and onions added to the cornmeal batter) and last baked corn dodgers. (Hush puppies). For dessert ambrosia salad. (Sour cream, coconut, pineapples, mandarain oranges, marshmallows, and Marchino cherries). Alright, I'm off to the fridge now! (As if I didn't weigh enougn already)(Thanks to IPlural I'll gain a few more now). Bah, humbug. >
And Last- A Pipe of Imperial Chocolate tobbacco and a Sam Adams Brew.

One of my top 3 favorite meals;

Chicken fried steak, smothered with cream gravy.
Mashed potatoes, also smothered with cream gravy.
Cabbage.
Hotwater cornbread.

Not a "healthy" meal, but so damn good!

Lets not forget this all time favorite,

Take two slices of bread,
add favorite baloney,
squish several handfuls of potato chips onto the baloney,
drench with ketchup,
enjoy.

I pulled some thing in my neck playing around with me son about 2 days ago and it’s not getting any better so I’m going to the hospital today. But after I get back let me know if you want any of my homemade recipes, I cook every thing from scratch.

Example:

BBQ sauce
Real chicken noodle soup (even the noodles)
Potato soup
French dressing
Meat loaf

And more. Any how it hearts like h*ll to sit here and type but let me know if you want some of them and I’ll try to get them typed out, as I keep all of them in my head.
