Default 6 Ratings

Tuesday, February 18, 2003 by citats | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

I have read in the past that if a skin is not actually rated. It receives a 6 rating...
Is this so?
and if so, is it possible to just leave the skin as unrated instead of the default 6. Or would that mess with the way downloads are controlled? I know that unregistered users can only download an 8 or higher.
Although some users don't care about the ratings and say they are over rated... Many users, use these ratings to help them find skins that are perceived as a notch above. what do you think?

Visitors can download 7 or higher, unless that has changed. A journeyman gets a 6 rating upon unload because they are not moderated, but it shows no raters.

oh... I was under the impression that on occasion skins may be approved from the que but given an auto rating of 6 because it was not rated by any admin.

Unmoderated skins receive an auto '6'. All that go through moderation are given an initial rating by admins manually...

Are "unmoderated" skins only journeymen and above? Or do some skins by pass moderation due to sheer quantity?

I do not question any skins quality I was just wondering if others sometimes go by without moderation.

It 'has' been known that one slips through without....due to an accident...but that's very rare...

I don't understand

I emailed a moderator about why every skin I uploaded got a 6 rating.

I was told that due to the time restraints moderators have they can't look at every skin so the system gives them a 6.

Now I am reading a contradiction.

I just love these rating threads

You are not reading a contradiction at all Ms Delicious. If you have journeyman status or above, everything you upload does not go through moderation and WILL automatically receive a rating of 6. This will remain as an interim rating until someone comes along and gives it an ACTUAL rating.
You obviously didn't understand my e-mail.
If you are below journeyman staus, everything you upload will go through the moderation area, where, if it is approved by a moderator, he will give it an initial rating. Again, this initial rating only applies until someone gives it an ACTUAL rating.

All clear now?

Could you also recite the preamble to the U.S. Constitution?

Actually, since it BoXXi, it can be the preamble to the Magna Carta......here, I'll get you started....

"John, by the grace of God, king of England, lord of Ireland, duke of Normandy and Aquitaine, and count of Anjou, to the archbishop, bishops, abbots, earls, barons, justiciaries, foresters, sheriffs, stewards, servants, and to all his bailiffs and liege subjects, greetings. Know that, having regard to God...."

Next time you use a hammer and you hit your thumb, instead of cursing just press this button. It won't really do anything, but by the time your fininshed logging into WC and pushing the button the pain will be gone....ergo, fixed thumbnail.
