Default 6 Ratings
Tuesday, February 18, 2003 by citats | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk
Is this so?
and if so, is it possible to just leave the skin as unrated instead of the default 6. Or would that mess with the way downloads are controlled? I know that unregistered users can only download an 8 or higher.
Although some users don't care about the ratings and say they are over rated...
Many users, use these ratings to help them find skins that are perceived as a notch above.
what do you think?

Delicious, after reading this whole thread, I felt like you still didn't understand what was being said. I am going to take the first 5 examples of the ratings of your skins that was posted earlier:
5 10 2 5 1
8 8 6 10 9 5 10
7 10 8 4
6 8 10
5 7 10
On those 5 skins, only *one* received an admin rating of a "6", even though you claim they all do. You received a: 5,8,7,6,5 on the five respective skins. The rest were peer ratings. When you average them for each skin, you get (rounded, since we do that): 5, 8, 7, 8, 7
I do not understand where you claim that everything is always rated a 6. The other point I would like to make, is that the "average" ended up the same as the admin rating 3/5 of the time. The admins don't auto-rate anything. We rate it on how it compares to the other submissions. I also agree with how Jafo took your "brown nosing" comment. It appeared to be directly aimed at the admins. We don't favor anyone during moderation.
