The Difference Between The Liberal and Conservative
"Debate" Over The War On Terrorism:

Question:
You're walking down a deserted street with your wife and two small
children. Suddenly, a dangerous looking man with a huge knife comes around
the corner and is running at you while screaming obscenities. In your hand
is a Glock .40 and you are an expert shot. You have mere seconds before he
reaches you and your family. What do you do?

Liberal Answer:
Well, that's not enough information to answer the question! Does the
man look poor or oppressed? Have I ever done anything to him that is
inspiring him to attack? Could we run away? What does my wife think? What
about the kids? Could I possibly swing the gun like a club and knock the
knife out of his hand? What does the law say about this situation? Is it
possible he'd be happy with just killing me? Does he definitely want to kill
me or would he just be content to wound me? If I were to grab his knees and
hold on, could my family get away while he was stabbing me? This is all so
confusing! I need to debate this with some friends for a few days to try to
come to a conclusion.

Conservative Answer:
BANG!

Texan's Answer:
BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! click... (sounds
of magazine being ejected and fresh magazine installed)
Wife: "Sweetheart, he looks like he's still moving, what do you kids think?"

Son: "Mom's right Dad, I saw it too..."
BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!
Daughter: "Nice grouping Daddy!"

I'm a Texan and own a gun, several actually . If someone came at me like that especially if I had my family with me, there wouldn't be a second thought about it. I would shoot him!

And to WOM and all the other fellow Texans here, AMEN to that! We take care of things down here real quick.

Or you could take the Socialist approach and arrange for the guy to have trauma counselling for the distress shooting you and your family would cause for him...

This is the difference between a liberal and a conservative. A conservative is someone who has just been mugged and a liberal is someone who has just been arrested.

Heh...I always heard it as "A Liberal is just a Conservative that hasn't been mugged yet." And it may be a cliche', but it's so true...that's precisely what started my shift from the far left to "right-of-center."

Also, why does being a liberal automatically mean you wouldn't have a gun? I know a LOT of very left-leaning people who own guns and believe in the Second Amendment in the U.S. I'm not trying to start a gun debate, I'm just wondering why the automatic reaction.

I sit the fence and pluck at grapes passing by

seriously though, party lines seems SO blahhhhh, or should I say BAa-aaa BAa-aaa

Each sides has some really positive and solid positions, at the same time both sides got some really junkers too.

Neither sides is consistent, and they constantly contradict themselves.

ah well

that's why in Texas we hate newbie out-of-state muggers. They do stupid things like bringing a knife to a gunfight!

Old Crab doesn't really believe in all that massive firepower out in the sticks where he resides. However he does keep an old weapon around called a "Turkey Rifle" just in case he runs into a snake on the farm.
