I was trying to offer a different direction so as not to hurt feelings and to start with a fresh idea.

I wonder, I have a great desire to learn to skin sysmetrix or some other app, and wonder how you all would feel about a cross training project where each person could skin something they never skinned with the help of someone experienced in that area.

So, let us say for example, Uvah teaches me sysmetrix and helps me do a skin, meanwhile, someone else skins a blind{ a new skinner} with the aid of someone with experience in skinning wb.

we would all benefit down the road, and learn from each other, and trade some ideas creating new skinning capabilities for all involved.

Just a thought..

Also, I like the eco idea still and have an idea of a somewhat octagonal glass design with light webbing{steel}for a start menu, not sure about frames, hope we do something with more peeps.

Maybe a new thread to post ideas, then submit our own versions of the voted on idea, then vote on a skin to work from , then make a suite together.

Just to elaborate; After an idea is voted for, the skins submitted are not all windowblinds.

The skin chosen to build from could be a sysmetrix or an icon set or wallpaper or even a start button. Get the point I am sure.

My thoughts anyhow, and if we take our time and each do a portion, maybe neone and kitty will have time to toss in a piece or to along with the rest of wc members.

Then, we be a happy family again at wc.

@DT1......I may be fairly decent at SMX but there are a few who put me to shame. Two names right off the bat. RnD, who does DX for one. Although not the same as SMX the function is the same. Then there's our Vamps...it is my opinion that Kitty can pretty much right her own ticket as far as artistic ability is concerned. There's also JC whose work I admire and Xiandi who along with Jazzy helped get me started. Point being that 'cross-training' as it were, skinners teaching skinners, has always been a part of WC. That's why we have tutorials and these forums. I see your point though. Bringing people closer together.

Question: The word together....has anyone given a thought to the three words that make it up? To Get Her....just sayin'

My thoughts were, what do the community think. I spent twenty minutes making the mock-up.

Did not want to do more simply because if we could keep a project in the works, maybe you all would have interest in helping design the rest.

Needs a see through top perhaps and lots of ideas to make a skin.

i think a little more "leadership" or "mentoring" (or whatever a better English term might be) would be required for such a project to take off.

I agree Moshi, just trying to keep a community project going or started or however you want to say it.

That is transparent also and would require life inside maybe.

Uvah, not ignoring that idea, just want more to input and get a better group of interested people.

Hope we can salvage this effort,ID goes out of his way to have these events and promote them, I hope we can do something so as not to sour his efforts in the future.Not saying he would give up on us, but all the same, He stuck his neck out with the post, maybe we can rally a second attempt at a nice project.

I am in for whatever role except leader as I have dial up and could not transfer stuff back and forth to easy on 3kb connection.

I'd say we should start fresh, no Biosphere. Just my opinion. If I made WB, I'd offer, but I don't.

I don't think a community effort should have to be based on a WB, but it should include one. And I think it should all match graphically.

Just my 2 pennies....

Why not pick a gallery at random then whoever builds for it can either volunteer or offer insight for someone who does. That person creates the graphics and you go from there.

Always wanted to do a circus skin and I started this last year. I made frames and some buttons and moved on. It was to be called sideshow.

Any interest as a different direction?  Last of my suggestions for a theme, do not want to be greedy.Still up for anything here.

basically... we have a nicely designed and usable blind ready made here... it recolours very well... how about, accessorisers build it into a suite?...

would be a good way of getting some action going without the lengthy time of the windowblind build... and if that works cohesively, maybe the next venture can be a start from scratch...   Unfortunately, the struggling enthusiasm with the lack of community input consideration in the last attempt, ends up being a turn off to people thinking of participating again with time and effort wasted.... so, a bit of a shortcut might breathe a little life back into it... yes/no
