Suggestions for 2014 WC Community Project
Tuesday, February 4, 2014 by Island Dog | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk
The last community skin we did was the Holiday Community Suite back in 2009. I wouldn't mind doing another winter holiday suite, but that's for later in the year.

So lets start getting ideas for the next community suite. Do we go for a season like Spring or Summer? Another holiday? A different type of theme?
Lets hear it and discuss it and get moving on the next one.

Twice offered. Twice ignored. Okies.
How do you figure that Matchbook, you volunteered to do at least a wallpaper. You now see the first graphics by Andy, surely there must be some ideas.

Oh okies. It *was* read.
It doesn't pay to be bashful or shy around here, community projects are just that, open to the community.

I have an abandoned skin, was going for the shipyard container feel, but could not find a direction. So, if any interest still in a project, A biosphere, or ecohouse, or whatever, I am willing. If you want a new direction,I offer this concept which needs help. Just offering, not pushing, game for what you all decide as a majority.
I had a screeny, something went wrong, coming shortly.

For what it is worth: FYI,, this is a disposed of skin, not a wip. so it is changeable and suggestions on a direction to go would be great.
This start menu has hope, the frames not so much, imo,. Maybe some steel fabrication for frames? Thought along the lines of a loading platform set up for taskbar. That was my intent, then I lost all direction.
So, unless we as a group do this, it is lost.
Again, not a wip. all changes welcome any skinner can take the idea also, does not have to be me.

I like the depth in the start panel. And thinking of a shipyard container, it probably would look rusty, which means different shades of red, orange, brown, etc. I don't think you should abandon it, seriously.

Thanks TB. I would however , prefer we come up with a group desire. This was just to show my interest in a group effort.
I hope some others decide to try again.
This concept or any. Me skin or you or someone. Not particular to my role, whatever would work for the project.
So, I hope when I come home from work, new life has filled this forum.
Have a good day all.

I hope the community project can still be a kind of Biosphere thing perhaps Ecosystem? I visited the one in Arizona years ago, before the University of Arizona acquired it. It was simply fascinating. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biosphere_2 and http://b2science.org/ ....
The Biosphere also includes Desert... a blind with a desert in mind, can be awesome...along with one of a pond, grasslands, etc. All are part of a biosphere.

If we can get the community spirit back into this effort, I'll be more than happy to embrace it.
I am truly sorry that I lost interest in it before. but as has been noted, the community spirit just wasn't there.
Personally, I need this as I have all but lost the urge to skin since the retiring of DX, and I also seem to have hit a standstill pretty much since my recent surgery.
I was hoping that this project might be my motivation to get back into skinning.
Anyway, guys, thanks for putting up with me.

I'm getting the feeling there just isn't much interest in the biosphere-type thing. Maybe back to forming suggestion again on another direction?

Perhaps going back to an era most of us 'oldies' fondly refer to as the "Age of Aquarius", i.e. The Sixties. Good as any I think.
