i was surfing around the other day and came across pages and pages of people who are convinced we never landed on the moon.
i was wondering if anyone here subscribes to these moonlanding hoax theories?

Too big of a conspiracy required to cover that up.
Eventually more humans will travel to the moon and it'll get settled. But yea, I'm quite certain we went to the moon.

I think there is no such thing as a conspiracy too big to cover up...
But I do believe we went to the moon. I've seen all the arguments for both sides and I don't think NASA faked it. I'm sure those footprints are still there...

If it were to be a hoax it was bigger than NASA.
Australia was facing the moon at the time of touch-down, so it was our radio-telescope that received the images, and then relayed them to the States.
Apparently the relay lag was used for the kill-switch...if it all went 'bad', then the transmission was to be cut to the US and the public would be spared the horrors, though apparently Australia got it without the 7 second delay so we'd have been privy to the result, good or bad....
I always thought that when the first hoax 'theory' was bandied about it was as a promo for the Movie....bit of free publicity.....but if people are calling it a hoax now, in another hundred years there will have been enough time for the bull-shit quota to get high enough to discount all sorts of things....Hitler was a Jew....but the Jews fealt un appreciated so they took it upon themselves to self-immolate for public sympathy.
Elvis was an advertising ploy to get kids' minds off drugs...he didn't exist....or he IS that guy in the Burger Joint....you know, the fat one in the White flared jump-suit....and kangaroos are in fact just mice photographed with a zoom lens.....I could go on, but I won't...

I don't believe the moon landings were fake.

More then one gunman killed Kennedy
The goverment knows alot more about UFO's then they are telling us.
Clinton had ties to drug money.

In a survey a few years ago it was revealed that 12% of Americans believed they had at some time been kidnapped by aliens, and 65% believed some part of the moon was made of cheese.

It says that the Russians had quite a few failed space flights, and that Gagarin wasn't actually the first person to come back from space alive. There's been a PBS documentry on this topic, it presented the information like it was the undisputed truth. Like I said, it's entertaining.
One time I did a presentation on the history of space flight for a high school class. I brought this up and all but one person accepted it as the complete truth. It's kinda sad, really. I could have told them anything I wanted and gotten away with it.

The revelations about the Soviet space program came from documents and individuals actually IN the program. After the Soviet Union broke apart a lot has been learned that was otherwise kept secret. Don't confuse information with speculation. The worst thing you can do is turn off your mind to the truth. Here's a big surprise for you... the government does not tell you the truth about almost anything. Right now, they won't even disclose the truth to congress.
It's not easy to get an informed opinion about conspiracy theories. The US gov't recently admited there has been a massive dis-information program going on for over 40 years and continues more pervasively than ever today. They purposely spread a false story with a few tantalizing facts so the whole story (and the person telling it) can be easily discredited.
Some people have experienced some of the conspiracies first-hand. Those are uusually the best sources of information. Anyone who says there are no gov't conspiracies is making a proclamation without investigation. The millions of man-hours of investigation into various aspects of twentieth century history have produced tons of verified and accepted facts (history) that to this day are laughed at and dismissed by some "experts" who have spent little or no time at all learning the facts or doing their own investigation.
The other problem is that if you truly research the 'other side' of Capitol Hill it gets too scary and too disgusting for most people to handle. It's much easier to say 'this never happened' and continue believing what you want than to dig deep enough to peer with open eyes at the seamy underbelly of politics.
Don't believe everything you are told, truth can only come from your own efforts to find it.
