Registered your software?

One of the things we've thought about to keep bandwidth use under control would be to look at someone who's downloading many megs of WindowBlinds skins and see if they've registered WindowBlinds or purchased Object Desktop and bring up a dialog nagging them or something.
Some people using the shareware version are of course just trying out skins but if they've downloaded 50 megs over the course of months, obviously they need to register it or stop using it (or at least stop using the bandwidth here).
Just curious as to what people here thought on that. Yea yea, the flames will start but Isuspect most of you register your software.

This is supposed to be a site all about windows customisation/skinning, don't bring the whole heavy handed element into it.
I can understand the dilemma with the bandwidth, but nag screens?
If introducing nag screens was the case, shouldn't all the other progs be the same?

"The site is largely independent of Stardock other than using its resources."

I don't use iconpakager coz iconphile is better and who would want desktop x when they have a registered copy of HoverDesk?

But someone mentioned a system about skins and themes being automatically uploaded to all the skinning sites at once, and if this one was full of nag screens, wouldn't people just download the skins from one of the sites that doesn't nag?.
Maybe this is your aim?
I have had DesktopX (demo) for about 2 weeks now, but I have had no luck trying to buy it, the credit card accepting software just declines my card every time. Have YOU registered that software Brad? lol.

Registration is something for stardock to worry about, not wincustomize.com. Unless you want to blur the line between the two more.
BTW, registered ODNT last month!
