How fast is your connection

This has been around a bit but it's still useful for those of you wondering how good your Internet connection is. ZDNet has a bandwidth tester that will give you an idea of how good your connection is.
My cable modem is through Comcast and tested at 1.665 megabits per second.

I tested it three times and got three very different results:
233 Kbps
478 Kbps
826 Kbps
Now, that is quite a difference in results. Mcaffee is totally smoking dope saying that it is around 1500, which is just wrong.
Either the tests are not accurate at all, or satellite is very flaky with speed (or it is a combination of both). I would say that is typically runs somewhere between the two lowest numbers, which still blows away dial-up, so I really don't care

I did show higher then what I got at ZDNet which was 2410 kbps
At Broadband reports I got..
3022 kbps download
363 kbps upload
Not too shabby. I am using RoadRunner. Pricey yes. At 39.99 + tax a month but, at least it all comes on 1 bill with my cable.

ADSL connection

On broadbandreports.com I got:
1372 kbps down
347 kbps up
The fastest speed I've seen for my connection is ~1900 kbps down / ~350 kbps up, usually at night.

Comcast in Allen, Tx. I pay right around $29.75 a month. I believe that is a one year special. Changed from DSL so I could dump SBC and go with Vonage VOIP to cut costs after a lay off. I'm working again and won't think about changing back to SBC! When was the last time YOUR phone company sent you a letter saying that they were lowering prices!

Up = 79 kbps
Connection = Cable
ISP = Charter
It's at least close to what it should be. I'm paying for 1.5 mb/s connection. Altoona, PA right now has a cap of that speed till they get all the new fiber optic lines installed. At least I hope they take off the cap when they are done.
