I do not choose to be a common person. It is my right to be uncommon. If I can seek opportunity, not security, I want to take the calculated risk to dream and build, to fail and to succeed. I refuse to barter incentive for dole. I prefer the challenges of life to guaranteed security, the thrill of fulfillment to the state of calm utopia. I will not trade freedom for beneficence, or my dignity for a handout. I will never cower before any master. It is my heritage to stand erect, proud and unafraid. To think and act for myself, enjoy the benefit of my creations; to face the whole world boldly and say, "I am a free American."
Freedom requires a moral society. We've lost them somewhere.
Freedom requires our leadership and representatives to be dedicated to preserving our Freedom and to serve the people with honor. - Not happening at all.
Freedom requires an informed society – people must have information to elect and manage their citizen representatives. - Would be interesting to see what percentage of the fiddy2ers voted for der Fuhrer based on the sole fact that he is black. That's not a racist question. It's a question meant to find out how many people actually voted, possibly for the first time ever, just to get a black president in office.
Freedom requires a Free Press to sound the alarm when our Freedom is threatened. - The press is the mouth of Government...it is not free.
Wake up people. Take action. Take back this country of ours. How many of you can honestly say you've read the Declaration of Independence or the Constitution? If you haven't, you are ignorant. absolutely, Socialism actually is a great idea...the problem is that us humans like our individuality. You can blame that on the humanism movement 500 years ago.
It's a great idea for the society as a whole, but not for you as an individual. Capitalism is great on the other side of the spectrum. kind of like the whole physics thing with the Universe... on one side it all make sense and on the other it makes sense but when you bring the two together, something's missing or something's wrong.
And don't think it the big money that keeps us from being a socialist society its everyone, because we all have experienced individualism... we do so by default as human beings.
Do some reading of John Locke and Thomas Hobbs... You will see where these two guy hit the nail on the head but you will also see that they two sit on opposite sides of the fence. FYI> we modeled our government after John Locke's point of view.

Um, I wasn't speaking about individual workers, but as indrustial/manufacturing entities as a whole... the fact that China and etc have little or no unemployment and production is at an all time high because Western jobs/manufacturing have been exported there.
As was mentioned in my previous post, the US (Australia and other developed countries) has sent thousands upon thousands of domestic jobs to Asia to maximise profits through exploiting cheap labour, and in doing so, domestic production levels went into decline... meaning unemployment rose and workers (as a whole) had/have less to be productive about.
So no, no inference to US workers (individuals or otherwise) was made.

I keep hearing how socialism doesn't work/isn't liked, but all of the above clearly demonstrates that capitalism (in its purest form) doesn't work, either. There needs to be a balance between the two... but that's never going to happen because the capitalists don't want it to, and have brainwashed the masses to believe socialism is the evil alternative.
Too bloody right, Cap'n! Bravo. Socialism works just as well as any other 'ism' and has the same drawbacks: stinking politicians, greedy people and disinterested citizens. Left/Right...it's all a diversion.
