Is this too dark?

Thursday, March 8, 2007 by vStyler | Discussion: Community

To solve an ongoing discussion with a friend I would like to ask anyone who cares to give their opinion two questions.

1. Can you read the text over the blue BG?

2. Would these menu's be useable in a a WB?

This is an Unskinned menu but the skinned menus are same color combo

A simple yes or no would be preferred please.

Hilarious jafo..

Anyway.. this is really saying a lot but at the same time very little.

Im wondering if its monitor settings or people's eyesight or just preference.

It'll drive a skinner nutty.

Well...let's say we get past the 'yes/no' limitations and add....problem lies in what is actually BEYOND the blue/black image, namely a high-contrast 'white', adversely impacting on the legibility of the black text.

or....

No.

No and No (dark text + dark background = not good).

I have to agree, that actual blue is almost half way up the Brightness scale.. its just dark of midway.. Im just not understanding why people find it unclear.. u cant make black (text) any blacker but you can make the blue darker, both with a different monitor setting or ones eyes seeing differently.

...I'll see how the results continue...

I have a new 24" Dell monitor, settings are pretty much perfect, and the text just takes an effort to read. Sure, you can read it if you really stare at it, or sit 10 inches from the monitor, but it's not all that easy to read for general use.

Why not make the text white or light gray?

Hard to express an opinion in a yes or no....

1. I can pretend to read it...
2. For me, absolutely not..... YMMV.
