Thanks Mike, yes I did it in AE using CC Sphere and effects, did you try out the original dream file in Deskscapes as the earth rotates quite slow as compared to the video preview btw slowing it down more would still be a good idea and yes I agree with you on the night lights popping up a bit too early !!

I never judge a dream by a preview...you can only get a good representation from the dream itself.
Myself, I prefer a bit slower rotation than 30 second. The last earth dream I created took a full 3 minutes for the rotation.
Keep in mind that you should create these for yourself and should set the speed as you like. 30 seconds could be more to your liking.

Mike I have just started working on a new 'Earth' dream with which im gonna keep all these things in mind now as you have always helped me out to create something better

Amit...here's some constructive criticism.
It's too fast for my tastes. I'm assuming this was done in After Effects.
You could lengthen your project to 2 or 3 minutes to slow the rotation down.
Also, t?he night lights pop in a bit too soon. ??A?d?j?u?s?t?i?n?g? ?t?h?e? ??mask ??s?h?o?u?l?d? ??fix it.
