Neither trout or salmon, but a fish I have had a lot of fun catching in my area of California, through out my adult life. Here they are called Sacramento Pike Minnow, formally Known as (Squaw Fish) in other states, similar fish are know as Chub Minnow. A lot of people think they are not good to eat, but in my option they have a very tasty flavor, kind of between Trout and Bass.

Are those trout or salmon? If they're salmon, they're swimming the wrong way.
