Unload DesktopX then use Regedit.
I can't remember exactly where in the registry it is (and I'm at work so can't check). It's something like HKCU/Software/DesktopWidgets/Desktop/Newsfeed.
Just search for "DesktopWidgets" or maybe "Desktop Widgets" and delete the newsfeed line in the desktop section.
After that it should work OK when you restart DX. I'll have a look at the problem with these feeds when I get home.

Great theme, but I am having some problems with it:
The script for your calendar doesn't run on my japanese PCs for some reason. Any calendar built using that script has numerous errors that with my limited experience I can't track down. For example, the Silica calendar runs fine.
The Quick links dialog doesn't show the links. I watched as it loaded this time and the links are there, but they disappear when the screen settles in. Is this a resolution issue? How can I find them and make them show?
Finally, the news dialog shows no news available.
Any help any one can offer would be greatly appreciated.

I'm really not sure what I can do about the calendar. I suspect that my script only has limited tollerance of different languages and I know there are many differences in Japanese that could cause issues. I don't however know how to fix this. If you want - email me directly with the error and I'll see what I can do, but I can't make promises.
The quick links I'm not sure about. What this does is delete the default objects and read new ones from a text file so it's not a resolution issue, it's just doing what it should do ... apart from drawing new ones. Can you create quick links?
The news I know is an issue as the BBC have changed it's format. I will get this fixed as soon as I can, but in the meantime try another feed by clicking the "?" next to the news. Try something like: http://www.allheadlinenews.com/rss/japan.xml
Feel free to email me.
