Is there any way to have the fonts use ClearType?

Great!! Are you going to make a cursor at any point?

The wind arrow seems to be the opposite of what it's reporting.

Fantastic. I'm brand new to all of this and this is the reason I got going.

Having the same problem as Meow - X and adepner, though. "Dublin, Ireland" was accepted but later it says it's not a valid zip code.

Had a look on and now I'm trying Dublin, IE. We shall see...

Keep up the spectacular work!

Munster, Meow-X and adepner - I'm sorry you're having dificulties with it regarding the location issue. I have experienced the same thing myself, but only rarely. I can only think that it is something to do with the available information from changing. When it happens, I usually accept the default zip code, leave it for a minute or so, and then re-enter my location, at which point it is usually accepted and then I'm back in business.

Mav - don't blame me, blame the bloke who decided on the convention for naming winds Winds are named after the direction they originate from, whereas the arrow points in the direction the wind is blowing - hope that makes sense

How do I ask the weather meter to bring me the temperature in Fahrenheit? I keep getting Celsius readings, and thinking it's HELLA cold outside!!!

Thanks! If you could be so kind as to email a response, I'd appreciate that. Link:

Thanks again.

Hey, if you're all still having problems with the zip code not being recognized, etc., you might try StealthOS-Weather. It works perfectly for me, never has to ask for my zip code more than once and doesn't crash my desktopX. Tiggz, I don't have the expertise to look at your scripts and compare and see what may be different, but you might take a look. Still prefer your object's appearance.

cheers DjStoic - I must admit I don't have any problems with this object, it doesn't crash and seems to remember my location. There is an issue with dx and the use of persiststorage variables whereby if you save the theme the persiststorage variables appear to be destroyed in the current theme. To get round that, I either do not save my theme, or if I do, I save as... and then immediately reload the saved theme. A safer way can be to store the location in a text object which is perhaps what the stealthOS object does...I shall have to check it out

Just wanted to say that I think this, and all of the killer objects are awesome. I was wondering if you've found a way to change the zip code, and make it stay that way permanently. I was trying to find if there is a way, but just can't find one. If I don't save a theme, the objects don't remember my changes....such as the email or browser changes.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

yeah I have found a way which I've implemented in later weather objects - I just need to update the older ones...adding to my todo list now
Comment #52 Thursday, September 30, 2004 8:08 PM

Any plans on a Killer recycle bin for DesktopX? Maybe you've already created one that I didn't find yet, I'm new to this site. I'm using your bio-type bin from your K-series right now, but I'd like to round out my Killer theme with a bin. Thanks!
