Digital vs. Analog

i have been reading on the different views that come up with the "tug of war" in choosing between brands of graphics cards and i would like to ask as far as wether you use nvidia or ati, what kind of connections as far as analog or digital (dvi) people are using. i have been researching the different graphics cards and know the higher end cards support dvi, but as far as quality, is there a difference? i have a monitor (samsung 930b) that supports both analog and digital, and just wanted some insight as to the difference using the digital connection would have. i noticed the cables were kinda pricey and wondered if it would be worth the expense going that route. any opinions are and always appreciated. my system configuration is based on an amd 3500+ with 2gb memory and pci express slot for when time to upgrade graphics. thanks.

I use DVI with my ATI card. I never saw a noticeable difference in using analog or dvi, but I still want to get the best signal I can.
