ObjectDock submit rejected!!!

Sunday, December 25, 2005 by Phoenixheart | Discussion: Community

I uploaded some of my very first works, the ObjectDock icons, all in 128x128 PNG. Then I waited. And today I received an email telling me that my uploads were all rejected The reason was, as they said, file must be in ZIP format, when I uploaded pure PNG. But how about this guy?

[Note: link died, as was taken care of ]
His work is in PNG, not zipped.
I'm totally discouraged. Please help!

I'd suggest a re-submit in zip format. Just because someone else slipped through doesn't change the requirements. Hope you get them approved this time.

I think mine got rejected too, as it was gone after few days, but there was no email for me telling what i did wrong, so as i uploaded 2-3 times with different file format such as ZIP, ODOCK, and PNG, all were gone without notice.

Oh well..

Personally...I'd like to see all icon/pngs rejected (ejected) from the ObjectDock library.

Then we could call it the WebDock library.

We could call it the WebCavGoob library!

Either that or we should be allowed to post our docks in the Misc Icons library as well!

It would be nice to see docks actually get their own library. An actual Object "Dock" library! If Myself...Cavan1...gooberbean and a few others ever removed our docks...you'd have nothing more than Misc Icons 2.

We get no respect!

Shouldn't that be "docks for cover"

Its nothing personal Banditedu...its just that Icon/Pngs are being uploaded to 3 libraries...IconPackager...Misc Icons...and the ObjectDock library...which I personally don't think they belong in. Let me put it this way again...remove all docks/docklets and and you have nothing more than a Misc Icons 2 library. And each time someone uploads a slew of icons/pngs the docks get buried farther and farther back into the library.

ObjectDock should only be docks and docklets. If Icon/Png creators can upload they're stuff to the ObjectDock library then dock/docklet creators should be able to upload the the Misc Icons library...but we aren't...and this has been an ongoing gripe I've had here.

Note: To me...Icons & Pngs are basically the same thing but with a different file size and appearance...but are still used for the same purpose.

uh huh...hows about an object dock icon gallery or folder...but if I remember correctly, one may serch the objectdock gallery set to only certain criteria, such as docks, docklets, animation and the like...I know this adds a step and doesnt prevent the new docks/docklets from getting buried by the sudden onslaught of thousands of new icons uploaded at once, but (truthfully) isn't this a solution?

I mean, when I search for a new zoomer or docklet, I simply set the search in the OD gallery to look only for those specific items...

I agree cuz it makes more sense to me.
When I go to the Object Dock gallery I'm looking for docks.

The icons/pngs should go in the misc icons gallery. Even if they were made for ODock, they can still be used elsewhere, like DTX.

All libraries have that option Bandit...but if you go by that then have just 1 library and use that option in your search. The thing is Icons/Pngs should simply be kept in the "Misc Icons" or IconPackager libraries...and Docks/Docklets in the Object"Dock" library.

Its like this...
WindowBlinds - WindowBlinds Library
Icons/Pngs - Iconpackager & Misc Icons Library
Docks/Docklets - ObjectDock Library
Cursors - CursorXp Library

Each app has its own library...but for whatever reason the ObjectDock library has been invaded by Icons & Pngs. It maked no sense.

The thing is...not enough people care for anything to ever get done about it. And several times I've consider not even making docks anymore or just moving everything to my gallery because of this.

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEKKKKK
He said the "P" word!!!

I think we had a petition to ban petitions and it was passed by a preponderance of persuasive points pursuant to pathological processes.

I thought we had a poll to see if we needed a petition to have a poll regarding petitioning to have a poll to start a petition.
