WB 5 beta Skining Problem
Thursday, October 27, 2005 by AniFran | Discussion: WindowBlinds
The "Open With" window, the inside box where you select the application you want windows to open a file with is all "Black w/ Black txt" so you can't see the applications name that you want to select. You must hight each application in the list so you can read the txt.
I have attached a screenshot of that window. hosted on my site.

PS. system info:
Windows XP SP2 with lattest windows updates
1GB of DDR
ATI 9800 Pro
WB 5 beta (4.90g[b].003

| ok, i unstailled and reinstalled WB 5 (removing all reg keys and left over files i could find). And then opened up the "open with" dialog box and was ok again.. But the it's doing it again, does it on any skin i pick. But after i reboot sometimes it still black and somethings it's fix. So i'm guessing it;s a coding bug in WB somewhere. |
Or it's conflicting with a program you have installed. I've found that to be the biggest issues as to why WB5 works funny for some and works flawless for others (such as myself). Guess the flawless part is just luck of the draw for some. Lol. At least you aren't having any other major issues!

What version are the drivers for your 9800pro?
It's very likely there might be a program conflicting with WindowBlinds. You could try running Silent Runners (make sure to save the program on your desktop), upload the output file to a file server, and link to it here.

| Hey Guys, Anybody wants to share their WB 5 Beta! i cant afford to have it!Im just a student |
The Windowblinds 5 Beta is only available to Object Desktop Subscribers at this time. Why? It's part of their subscription. On top of receiving a wonderful cornucopia of software; their subscription affords them the availability of Beta versions before they are released to the public.
That said, asking someone for software which you do not own, nor have a license for is a no-no. While it's unfortunate that you are a student of limited financial means, that doesn't afford you the right to traverse the forums of the developer for the software you are interested in to solicit an illegal copy of the software.
In short, do it again, your account(s) get banned.

Which skins had you tried applying when you ended up with this result? I have tried three per-pixel skins: 5imple Alpha, Aura, StealthOS and have had success in skinning the "Open With" dialog:
Going off your system specs, there shouldn't be any reason why you should be experiencing issues. Have you tried unloading your skin and then opening the Windowblinds Configuration again and reapplying your skin or in worst case scenario, uninstalling/reinstalling?
