I thought it might be fun for some of us to share screenshots
of unfinished skins and perhaps offer eachother encouragment
to continue with them.

I'll start with this,

There is a updated preview of this somewhere on my disk, damnned if I can find it though (it only had scrollbars and a green substyle) It didn't get very far, and I'm not about to pick it back up any time soon

I have a ton of junk that will probably never get done. 56k'ers might want to avoid this link, big ol' file:

..what a pity ...I'd definitely use those two bottom ones. Nice looking work!

[Edit]
..and BoXXi ..I'd also use at least 4 of those.

Hope you both become inspired enough to finish at least some of them

How long does it usually take people to finish their skins? I've been working on mine for a couple of weaks now, motivation is my main problem.

Yup, the only skin I ever finished was back in 2001 was NsiGUI: http://www.deviantart.com/view/58307/
Then I've had unfinished skins laying around for ages because after making the intial concept images I get new ideas and start on them before I finish the work in SKS.
Here's the ones that's come the furthest:
darkGUI: http://www.deviantart.com/view/1580217/ http://www.deviantart.com/view/2671773/
softGUI: http://www.deviantart.com/view/1580720/
softGUI III: http://www.deviantart.com/view/4372501/
CarbonFiber: http://www.deviantart.com/view/13225574/

spinal -

Skinning is perpetual. I've got a set of 7 variations on essentially the same basic skin that I've been working on for nearly 2 years (that's nuts) and I still keep running into little glitches or thinking up new little variations I might like better, then realizing that just one change can mean changing 20 images and the attributes for each. Of course, while I've been working on these skins, dozens of newly skinnable features have been added to WB, so I need to go back to the earlier ones to add some of them for the skins to be reasonably complete. And I have no experience doing animations or Toolbar Buttons, so they all lack those. I have two skins that I consider really good that I can't publish - I've been trying to get permission from the company whose original artwork they are based on for 3 years now. If I ever get permission, I'll need a few weeks to get them up to current speed.

When you skin as a hobby, it takes forever.

Cheers,
Daiwa

Wow lots of goodies around here...

Hippy, the bottom two would make excellent blinds.

Boxxi,i'd use the yellow-black one.

Thomassen, all are good but CarbonFiber and SoftGUI III are just killer blinds.

JJYing,i guess we'll be waiting yet another great WB soon.

As for me,i've done a lil something, but i dunno if i have the appetite or time to finish it off.

Check it out here: Link

Any ideas?

Yea, when it comes to design I'm a prefectionist. I keep finding small details that I'm not happy about and then would have to go back to change it. Often it involves doing little changes in many of the GUI elements to get a consistent look.

I'd really wish I could just get the skins done already because I got so many ideas in my head I want to do. But at the moment I don't even have time to concept them.
