Your favourite web browser?

I don't know, I've heard so much bad about IE6 but I've been using IE since I got my first internet connection (36.6k 
) about 10 years ago. Well it was Netscape back then but just for a moment before I started IE. I've tried Opera and MoZilla but I didn't see much deviation in terms of performance and stability, so I'm just wondering what you guys have to say.
[On a side note, I'm looking for a central email software that can handle many accounts at once (those POP3 stuff) Yahoo! used to have that feature, but it was taken away I think. Microsoft Outlook doesn't work. Any ideas?]

Never liked lynx for some reason. I guess it's because I started with Links and kinda got used to it.

if you like to have your browser the way YOU want it, really, firefox is the only answer..there is so much you can do with it, so many extension, themes, greasemonkey alterations...i really believe there is no excuse to use any other browser...
i hate the idea of my personal information being kept on servers out of my control, so for that reason i use thunderbird (with extensions, themes etc etc)...you can make it look like OE if you like...i like to be able to go through my mail when not on-line and to write mail when not on-line...google is great, but do i want to give them access to all my emails...no...
i've used both ff and tb for years and have never had any reason to change, and i have tried all the rest..

I remember, and agree with Kona.
My reasons are simply that it works, and it is already part of Windows - no need to add a program, IMO.

IE does what I want it to do.... No need to install nothing more into my system... I always hate to duplicate components of any kind. I have tryed to use FireFox but I don't like it. I prefer "FoxIE" (an add-on made by FireFox creators -I think- to make IE more useful) running on IE 6.x better.

Not sure what is going on there, you should be able to set-up multiple POP3 e-mail accounts (just make sure to use the "Test Account Settings" button after filling in the required name, password, mail and smtp server information.
You can also set-up groups of e-mail accounts, to assign the activity for a given group during "send/receive" command.
I have only heard of issues with 'hotmail' accounts needing to be set-up as a folder, which opens the hotmail page - no issues where you would be pulling off the server.

I use Firefox 99.9 percent of the time. I use IE6 only in those rare times when I run across a site that needs it. For email, I use Outlook Express as it suits my needs and because my ISP scans my email for spam before it reaches me. If my ISP did not do that, then I would be using Thunderbird.

Another note: I do not use Firefox because I am afraid to use IE6, but because once you use tabbed browsing, you will never want to be without it!

For Windows
Web Browser: Opera; Mail Client: Incredimail Xe.
For Linux
Web Browser: Opera, FireFox; Mail Client: NA.
I started using opera after the release of Opera 7. It worked fine even with a poor dial up connection. Though now I've a BroadBand connection, I'm still using it, because i love it.

I'm using Firefox and Opera as browsers (couldn't use any other, they're just EXCELLENT).
Thunderbird does render me a good service as email client.
Another GREAT email client (for all of those that don't like Thunderbird, due to whatever reason), is The Bat!, downloadable at www.ritlabs.com. It is worth trying!

I am overwhelmed by all the different ideas. Anyhow, I have just finished reinstalling FF to give it a second try, and currently browsing sites for Opera and The Bat!.
Got TB downloaded earlier. So many things to experiment with!
IE blocks popups pretty well too.

I give up. Thunderbird doesn't work as well. There must be something wrong with all the POPs and SMTPs.

Microsoft is gonna have to come up with some awesome stuff for me to leave Firefox. Opera has alot of the same features but the ads annoy me.
You never realize how useful tab browsing is until you CAN'T do it after being so used to it.

For the longest time, I kept dabbling with Firefox because so many people were raving about it but kept finding myself going back to IE because it's like an old pullover, doesn't look that hot or anything but you know it well, it feels comfy.
A few weeks ago I finally started messing around with the extensions and themes and now have a browser that does so much more than IE ever did. It's totally changed my surfing habits. It takes some time to work through all the extras and find out which is the most useful set to have to suit you but if you ask yourself just how much you surf and the answer is, A LOT, then FF is in another league.
Not that I'm bashing any other browser, like anything in software it comes down to personal preference in the end, you just have to find what works for you best.
