WB5 Select Data Source

I can't use WB5 (4.90d) or the previous betas on my work machine because I keep getting a "Select Data Source" popup box every time WB needs to try to get the list of skins. This happens through the WB config panel or through display properties while attempting to get to the Appearance tab.
I've uninstalled, reinstalled. This morning: I uninstalled the previous beta, wiped the WB directory of all but skins, rebooted, installed 4.90d, rebooted. Same problem.
This work machine is a development machine which has .NET development environment, MSDE and a few other development things on it. Could this be my problem?
Obviously, any help would be appreciated.

no, WB5 has never worked for me. i got another machine i havnt used in a while that has XP pro (this one has the home version) and i'm gonna dust it off and see if i can get WB5 working on it. if i discover anything i'll post it.

If you have an OD account then you can download the beta release which should fix all Select Data Source error messages as it switches to an INI based database instead of a MDB one.
I would guess this update will be released to customers as a release build either later this week or early next.
