WinCustomize Subscription Drive Begins
We need your help
Friday, September 30, 2005 by Frogboy | Discussion: WinCustomize News
WinCustomize.com is having a subscription drive. From September 30 to October 31 we are hoping to gain 2,000 new or renewed WinCustomize subscriptions.
Stardock has hired long-time skinner Mike Bryant who is going to work on creating at least one (probably two) premium suites that will be just for WinCustomize subscribers. In addition, WishX has been brought on board to help better coordinate efforts between the site development team and the volunteer moderators and administrators so that new features, changes, and bug fixes can be done even faster.
On top of that, monthly visitors have increased from an average of 14 million at the start of the year to over 22 million now. Those extra millions of users mean more bandwidth and more servers which is very expensive when you're at that level.
IF we make the 2,000 subscription goal we will also commit to adding some specific new features such as:
- Subscribers will be able to select their own "skin" for the site.
- An extra premium suite for subscribers
- Lots of additional new features for personal pages
- RSS feeds for select galleries
Presently, a WinCustomize subscription provides:
- No Ads on site
- Two Premium skin suites
- The WinCustomize Browser
- Unlimited Downloads
- A WinCustomize Personal page with your name as part of the domain
- A Personal photo gallery to upload images to.
- And various minor features with more being added regularly.
A WinCustomize subscription costs $19.95 for an entire year. Renewals cost $19.95 for an additional two-years. We will be keeping you up to date on the status of the subscription drive. In order to make 2,000 subscription we have to sell over 60 subscriptions per day.

If you are a skinner that has done something for the community in the past and can't afford a subscription ,contact me a craig at cdoman dot com. Don't bother unless you have done something for the community. Your email will go unanswered.

1. Subscribers will be able to select their own "skin" for the site. (have there be only 3 or so skins assuming there are at least 10 for regular subscription members)
2. An extra premium suite for subscribers. (for the $5 subscription you will only be able to download 1 premium skin.)
3. Lots of additional new features for personal pages. (No personal page for $5 subscribers or limited use of the personal page?)
4. RSS feeds for select galleries ($5 subscribers wont get this option)
Presently, a WinCustomize subscription provides:
* No Ads on site. (for $5 subscribers have there be only %50 of the ads compared to non-subscribers)
* Two Premium skin suites. (Only 1, as stated above for $5 subscribers)
* The WinCustomize Browser. ($5 subscribers wont get this)
* Unlimited Downloads. ($5 subscribers will be allowed...100 downloads per month? Or 250 a month? Not sure on the stats)
* A WinCustomize Personal page with your name as part of the domain. ($5 subscribers would still get this, though this is all subject to change)
* A Personal photo gallery to upload images to. ($5 subscribers will only be able to upload 5-10 images for their account)
* And various minor features with more being added regularly. (...not sure

| In other words, does the renewal start after the current subscription is up? |
I'm not sure bout wincustomize subscriptions but I would bet you won't loose time, I know you don't if you renew your OD subscription early......
