LogonStudio - Image problem

Hello,
I have downloaded and installed LogonStudio and started creating my own logon screens.
However, I seem to have a problem where in the program itself and the preview image it creates at the end, the picture looks clear and clean like it should be, however, when I try and test it 'live' and see how it is 'in action', the picture has this weird transparent 'holes' for a lack of a better word. this happens with 90% of the images I want to use. looks all great while in the program but not when windows starts.
Can anyone tell me please what am I doing wrong here?! resolution is 1024X768

Sorry, in this case, just the middle panel, since you have reduced the size of the top to 0

Thanks for replying Sleeping Dragon, It does look like if you change the mask colour of the middle panel,
to anything other than 0,0,0 it fixes it. I just tried it and works like a charm

The main cause of this problem is converting a jpg to the required bitmap. When setting to stretch image this will normally happen. When I use a jpg converted to bitmap I resize it to size I need then set image to fixed.

That could be the cause in most cases I'm sure though some images are already in the size you need like the one I used in this logon above. I'm just glad its easily fixed unlike removing the bottom panel/making it invisible when you want to make the image a full sized logon. dont think its possible with logonStudio unfortunately.

For no bottom panel set height to zero, this must always have a value so do not backspace all numbers out.
For the image even if is size needed if Style is set to stretched it will mess up image, setting to fixed should clear it right up. Stretched is default setting.

Yes, but setting the height to 0 indeed loose the bottom panel as well as the turn off PC button and text on the right.
I'm trying to loose the bottom panel but still keep the botton and text.

Open image in graphics software, rect. select 1024x80 from bottom of image, crop image, save the 1024x80 as bitmap_201.
Open image again, rect. select 1024x688 from top, crop,save. Open logonstudio,edit logon, for bottom panel click picture, window will open, browse to logon folder select bitmap_201. The reason for cropping image to 1024x688 is so when applied image and bottom panel match properly. Make sure Style for bottom panel is set to stretched. Has to be this as there is no fixed setting for it, only tiled and stretched.

Wow it really works! I did try it 2 days ago but I think my mistake was that I didnt set it to strech which is why the line between the two images was visible but this really worked, Thank you so much!

Ah....good to see a simple explanation of what's required in order to make a half-way decent Logon.
Once you start using what Cavan1 posted in #7 you're on your way to doing a 'proper' Logon.
The 'other' bit to do is all those remaining original images which can also be altered [skinned].
So many Logons are just simply rejected because they are one single image [often distorted resolution] plonked in to replace bitmap100.
Skinning a Logon is [or should be] a wee bit more than that....

Hey Jafo, the 'other' bit is the part that most peolpe don't want to take the time to do but it is what makes all the difference. I think # 9 has some good info also. 
I am just taking a break from logon I am currently working on.
Another tip when having to use a jpg converted to a bitmap is to use a 1280x1024 image, style for center fixed, style for bottom panel, if cropping image, stretched. Should apply correctly at any res smaller than image. I have tested down to 800x600.

Sleeping Dragon and Cavan1 were a big help with the 'holes'/distortions and the bottom part issues I've been having, and now I'm quite happy with the logons I created.
