OD+ Showing in Taskbar

Thursday, June 16, 2005 by rgrounds | Discussion: ObjectDock

I just updated OD+ & now it shows as a running task in the windows taskbar, I have looked through all the options & can not find a way to not get it to show in the task bar. (Not the systray) Thanks

Didn't look hard enough

Dock Settings->Positioning->Always on Top->(various options here)

Right click in a blank portion of a tab and choose "Dock Settings" then choose "Positioning" at the bottom of the positioning page under the Always on Top heading choose "Do Not Show In Tray Or Taskbar"

I don't have those options in the positioning page...
are you talking OD or OD Plus. I am running OD Plus
Ver 1.11.518u. It sounds like you guys are talking about
the plain old free ver of OD.

Thanks

I'm running OD+ version 1.11.011
I am running OD Plus
Ver 1.11.518u

That's curious because in SDC I can't see a newer version than I'm using, even with the pre-release items shown.

I just noticed you said that you just recently updated to OD+.
Did you uninstall the free version first?? You can't install OD+ over the free version.

I couldn't find one of the threads on this subject, but if this is the case you'll need to uninstall/reinstall OD+ I believe you also have to clear the Object Dock cache after the uninstall.

Btw for those who think they have a wrong version or something. This "problem" only occurs with a tabbed dock. I have zoomer docks and nothing shows on the taskbar for OD+ nor is there an option regarding that in settings. It can be fixed as mentioned by going into the tabbed dock properties, to positioning and adjusting it there.

I am referring to OD+ 1.11.518u like you have.

The setting is there although it's only for the tabbed docks like others have already mentioned. The above screen shot does not show what kind of dock has been setup.

Chris,

I agree, the settings should be available via the "Right-click tab of dock > Dock Settings > Positioning category".

1 - Don't show in taskbar or tray
2 - Show in taskbar
3 - Show in system tray (See hotspots tab for auto-activation)

I do see a tabbed dock below the taskbar in image above.
