Windows cannot find "(null)"

Friday, June 3, 2005 by Jafo | Discussion: Personal Computing

Lately, when dl clicking on a file...eg a jpg .... Paintshop Pro loads...but this error pops up.  Then I dl click on the file again and it'll load.

This is using Explorer Plus....but Windows Explorer is the same.

I'm assuming I have a service stopped that cause the error....yet dl clicking on a doc file loads word just fine.

Any ideas?

Google didn't help as any refs to the error appear to be different issues or system-wide...

I think we're talking about two different things: http://update.microsoft.com/windowsupdate/v6/default.aspx

Norton has an update for Intel Management Systems. Look in their 'Live Update' section...

yes...got that MS updater.....and thought it might have been the issue...so removed it...no change...so it's back on.

will look at the Management System thingie....though Norton itself is 'up to date'.

I have no idea if this helps, but what the hell....

I had that same happen and finally came to the conclusion that, that pspbrwse.jbf had to be the problem. So I did a search of all the pspbrwse.jbf on my system and deleted them.

and if I'm totally off base..blame the beer.

Delete the damn pspbrwse.jbf 's anyways. It's amazing how many you can rack up.
