Stupid P3 500! >:o(
Sunday, May 8, 2005 by PurrBall | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk
Oh, and did I mention that my computer with all custo things loading on startup takes over five minutes?
Yesterday I got 9 frames per second on a Combat Flight Simulator 3 battle. I even have a good GeForce FX 5200 256 meg vid card and 386 meg of RAM!
A Pentium 3 500 MHz just isnt good anymore these days.
I like my 3.2 GHz Intel 640 downstairs much better speed-wise, but then, I try to keep it clean by not customizing it.

Stupidity, more like...
You'd be better off determining exactly what it is you 'think' will slow your system through customizing and switch it off if you want to play a 'game'...
Common sense isn't really common at all...

Finally could edit this. I just noticed that you were also talking about a 500mhz processor with minor amount of RAM. My suggestion is to upgrade!!!! I currently run my 700mhz machine alot, but it has 640mb of RAM. Soon to be upgraded to a AMD XP 3200+ processor and 256mb of RAM for right now.

| From Stardock; Windows XP includes a basic visual style engine that WindowBlinds is able to extend and accelerate to provide more features, optimize its memory usage, and improve its performance |
WindowBlinds will make your fast computer faster.

I'd have to agree with you fully there. But I'm wondering, have we lost it, or have it actually excisted at all?

Provided you have a good graphicscard.

GeForce 6600 GT 128 on new.
GeForce FX 5200 256 on old.
I think I'll try WB, starting off with 'Mako.'
Sometimes no-thrills can be a good thing.
I really don't mess with that computer because, after all, it IS brand new. Let's keep reformatting away for at least a few years.
