Which do you recommened?

Hey, all I hear now is iPod this, iPod that. I, unlike a lot of you, can't stand Apple anything, however, the I've seen the iPod everywhere and it seems cool. But, I also like to compare before I get anything, and it seems that the Creative Zen Micro is just as good as the iPod. Does anyone have any other recommendations for something similar to these two?
And please let me know how you like your player if you own one of these.

Thanks but it looks like those are all MP4 video players. I was talking about an MP4 audio player.

MP4 audio... Apple use it in the iPod and cals it AAC.
As far as I know, the iPod is the only one that supports it.

I have a creative jukebox 3 and the Muvo N200.
Both times I opted to go for the most bang for the buck. The ipods are as slick as it gets. They look great, they perform great. There's nothing much to not like, really, except the price. If you have money to burn, go get an ipod. I don't think I've heard anybody regret getting one.
However, if you don't have money to burn, then creative offers a real competitive line of products to suit any need.
Muvo's are 64mb-1gb of flash, the zen micro 4-6gb hd, the zen junkebox up to 60 and if you get a jukebox 3 you can even swap out the drive for an 80gb drive.
The audio on all of these devices are great, the only thing holding back the quality is how you rip the tracks.
Battery life has consistently been better with the creative line (in reviews), but I'm like most folks - how long do you really need non-stop music? I've rarely run down the battery in my jukebox 3 (which is rechargeable). The Muvo is 1 AAA and I use a rechargeable for that too.
Typically, I believe that the creative line offer a few more features too (FM radio, recording, line in, etc.) that I don't believe the ipod offers.
For me, I have a lot of music so I wanted a player that would hold my entire collection, give me room to grow and I could take anywhere I wanted.
I can throw the jukebox 3 in a pouch on my hip and take it about anywhere I could take an ipod. If you're getting a hard drive based unit, you probably shouldn't be jogging with it, so then you want to think about where you'll be using it. Me, it's at home at night, in the car, in the office or walking around. Capacity and quality of sound was more important that style or size.
Last, you don't hear of many folks getting robbed for their creative labs (or other brand) of mp3 player. Folks do get robbed for their ipods

i am not an apple person AT ALL (i'll bet they still have no buttons on the mouse. wtf? no buttons. on the mouse.) anyway, i have an ipod 20gb which i love madly. the user interface is just so elegant.
but BEWARE the iPod: it's worse than a barbie -- the minute you get it out of the box it needs you to buy it a malibu dream house, a boyfriend, and a corvette.
*ahem* mine has the JBL speaker dock, the Navi-Pro wireless 10 button remote, the AirTunes FM transmitter, and the headphones with the remote control. oh, and a case. but that's all.

If you wanna get a feel for them (sizewize and whatnot) I suggest hitting up Best Buy, Circuit City, CompUSA, etc. And also the people there do tend to know something you didn't from time to time. But don't buy from them, you can always find them for less online (retail box stores have much higher operating costs than a web-only front).
iPod-
Highs-Crapload of accessories, 10x more than any other player, not exaggerating either. Cool factor. Interface is great. Good battery life, size, capacity, and price.
Lows-Lack of built-in features like FM Tuner, Voice Recorder. Battery only replacable by Apple for $100+shipping+labor. Bad for people who hate being trendy. Doesn't play WMAs.
Other notes-iTunes is not mandatory; several third party methods will allow you to send songs to the unit, WinAmp has a plugin.
The Zen counters almost every low point of the ipod. It's interface is a bit lacking, and the trendy cool factor isnt there. And according to another poster, better sound quality (but some people are too friggin particular about some things, it'd take an extremely scrutinous audiophile to notice the difference).
So if accessories, interface, and cool factor are more important, go ipod. If you just want a good player for the price, go Zen Micro.

I want a Zen Micro.
Price is easier to handle since I'm canadian and from what I have been hearing its a good mp3 player. Reading the posts in this topic only make me want one even more!

haha, thanks guys. About that "msn store", "napster", etc. Can't I just take music from my cd's and put it on the ipod, iriver, or zen micro? Or can only stores give them music. If so I dont want n e of them.

You should be able to play any mp3 on the players. All you need is a CD ripping program that will make mp3 files from all of your CD's. I use Exact Audio Copy.

Its slower then most rippers but the quality is really good.

You should be able to play any mp3 on the players. All you need is a CD ripping program that will make mp3 files from all of your CD's. I use Exact Audio Copy.

Any MP3 will work with any of them. I have used MS Media Player for mp3 ripping with no issues.
