Doubt it. that Pentium is not 64 bit based as the AMD is.

I originally wanted an AMD, but they seemed rather scarce. Found a good deal on a Toshiba Satellite with a Pentium 4.
If you plan on upgrading later, It will cost a lot more. (more than a desktop)
So if you can, get what you want in the puter when you buy it.
Something else to consider is power source. Batteries only last 2-4 hours and a 12 volt adapter will go from about $65 USD to over a hundred. It SHOULD come with a 120 volt adapter.

Uh,
AMD is a superior chip in many ways and cheaper than Intel. These days you are simply paying for that Intel sticker on that laptop. Intel is desperately clambering to keep up with AMD these days.
Stick with AMD. An AMD chip and ATI vid card is an uber combo

It's bright, it stomps, i can use ti anywhere and at any time. This is the end all. ITs more powerfull then most peoples Desktops and has enough versatility i can work and play. The final end price 2300 with the extended 1 yr accidental dmg warrenty. I can say ya cant beat it. I runs cool even in my lap and i get nothing but ooo's and aaaahhhhs from everyone around. Even the mac ppl have to come feel the power.

I am finding that is the case, and I wouldn't mind a MAC, but nobody else around here uses MAC, so I would have some major compatibility issues... but when I get the money, I will probably consider getting a mac mini... but that's another day, another 500 dollars
