What Laptop Would You Get?
Looking for a nice laptop

I am looking for a nice, small laptop that has a lot of features, such as the Dell Latitude x300, but without as high as a price. Any suggestions?

I noticed the x300 is no longer made and I perfectly agree with this:

I would like one of the bigger ones if I was going to take it, put it in the car, go, and then put it on a desk and use it, but I want to be able to use it in the front of a single cab truck without having to be smothered in laptop case and everything else. I don't know, maybe a small one would be just as bad, but I don't think so.

Yea, mine is pretty big but it's nice I usually have it on a desk anyhow. Plus I wanted a nice big screen so I can see as much stuff as possible.
Comes in handy when working on graphics or websites.

I'll say this much: If you want something you can probably hold in your hand, a 12-inch screen would be best.

how much does a nice 12 inch laptop cost? I need at least a 30 gig hdd, I would like at least a 1.4 pentium m processor, and I have to have the 512 mb ram, and a dvd player at least. all the rest doesn't really matter as much to me, as I will be putting a wireless card in it anyways, so I can have an external antenna. I want a smaller one because my father has a 15 inch HP ze5700, it's nice, but it's way too big to use in the truck, it's too heavy to haul around for very long, and the battery only lasts 1 1/2 hours max. maybe I should check out a 14 inch thinkpad or something, .::sighs::. still haven't made up my mind.

The 700m looks nice, but some full screen applications wont look good at wide screen

Games and non-widescreen videos mostly.. I'll go fetch my old PC World that talks about that.....
If you hook it up to a projector.. That'll be a mess.
And they also dont have the same ratio as widescreen DVDs so they would look junky too. Dont listen to brands advertising playing widescreen DVDs.
