Hacking is not likely to be popular here

And using numbers instead of letters is just annoying and not at all 'elite'.

::sighs:: Sploit, go away, nobody cares.. Grow-up quit looking for attention .. Hackers are soooo "yesterday" try to figure out where you are today.
Nothing has changed, Hackers werent liked in the past and they arent liked now..are you entirely clueless? or do you think you can intimidate someone by claiming to be what your not?
Careful, you may run into someone better than you here that will ruin your day..just..go away..

(I'll go get some coffee now and get in a better mood..::sighs:

Always nice to see a new trend everytime a movie comes out... Hackers for example... same happends with all the pre-packed sub cultures from movies like blade (1,2 and 3 )

Pretty confident of this. There are some knowledgeable folk here and some of them are tougher than a two dollar steak. Might even make you cry.

LoL..Butch..I guess that was worth saying 4 times??
(Yes I am feeling better now, I have had my coffee!...LoL)
only room for one at W.C..LOL

Just 1?? ::looks around:: Oh..I see many more than 1 that definelty have the talent but that isnt what they are about.
And if they were, we wouldnt know it, it isnt something that comes up in small talk..::laughs:: unless of course your using it to get attention, then you probably arent very good at it, and you do it for all the wrong reasons..

Basically though, I really hate to point this out, everyone that tweaks the windows OS in any way shape or form..(yes even you Fuzzy,LoL) would be considered..(god forbid!) a Hacker.
Sorry!..LoL..just had to point that out.

Now c'mon..everyone deny it..

Whilst I would describe the activities of Team Sploit as being that of Crackers rather than Hackers and as such not that which I would want to support or expect to see supported here at Wincustomize. I note the request itself was polite and hope we respond in a like manner.

Actually Alternate Setting, you are correct and being half asleep this morning when I read the thread, it just rubbed me wrong.( no excuse, I know)
I do suppose I was harsher than I needed to be and for that I apologize, my opinions however I do not apologize for.

It was a legitimate request, and actually I do have an old win98 desktop theme that was created by "Oh Betty" creations entitled "Hacker" She created it though from being a little more than angry at a few that managed to hack her system and cause her to lose alot of project materials..in the end, hackers are the reeason she does not create themes any longer.

Sploit, Email me and I will give you the web address to where you can contact her for the theme, if your interested.

I politely reply that we shan't be in need of any "hacking" shenanigans at our humble home. Please refrain, if you will, from pursueing this matter further.

Thank you for taking the time to read my very insignificant post, and I do hope I did not offend Mr Citizen Team Spl0it in the least.

A Hacker Skin???
Hmmmm.... now there's an interesting concept.
What exactly is a Hacker Skin? Does it have any special features? How does it differ from the regular skins? Are the letter of the texts replace by nu?b3rs and s?mb0ls? Does it let you access secure sites and systems? Does it skin parts of the OS otherwise impossible to skin with regular skins?

Innovating minds want to know.

I am currently creating a some designs for all those intrested in Elite Speak and Hacking in general. My Bootskin should be uploaded very soon, after it has been looked at

To clarify, Elite Speak or `l33t 5p34k' is a dialect of the English language which substites ACSII characters. Its mainly used for internet chat rooms, IRC channels, and online games. Computer hackers didn't want their web sites to be picked up in a simple keyword search, so they began using numbers to replace certain letters.

Even the search engine, Google uses a version of this, found at: Link

Maybe we should create a new range of Hacking / Elite skins! Hope this helped!

Still an interesting concept to me but I doubt any general group would be interested in. The word 'Hacker' doesnt draw a positive reaction in people, sort of like screaming 'Bomb' in a plane.

Isn't Stardock releasing Uplink: Hacker Elite through TotalGaming.net?
Maybe WC should change it's stance?

Hacking is only 'cool' (I suppose) in the movies. As for the 'speak', well, I agree with Hippy. Judging by clues alone, I'd guess you are fairly young. Try spending some time in Photoshop and create an original idea.

And not to seem hypocritical, but yes I broke down and used a one vs. an ell in my screen name. This wasnt meant for cool points or 'the speak', I just wanted the name.

Geez, all that and he doesn't even know how to spell h4x0r. How 1337 is that? I think "spl0it" is the sound you hear when fifteen people stomp on you all at once.

Always nice to see a new trend everytime a movie comes out... Hackers for example...

Styl, that movie came out in 1995, unless there's a newer one I'm not aware of ... back when Angelina Jolie was a lot less creepy.
