Please Make This For Me!

Tuesday, March 8, 2005 by Pc_lover12 | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

Hi Guys,

Could one of you (or more) please make a really good Holden wallpaper and logon, maybe with one of the V8 SS utes that you see at the ekka.  If you can't or don't want to do the wall and the logon, then just do the wallpaper.  The dimensions are:800x600.  If you can, could you sort of supe the car/s up a bit as well.  My email is: [email protected].

Remove that explanation point from the title and your chance might improve of getting someone to spend their hard earned free time to make something for you. I don't even know what Holden is.

Firstly, to anyone else who read my first post, if you don't want to do it then don't, i just thought i'd ask. Secondly, please don't make any smart remarks like sleeping dragon. Thirdly, to sleeping dragon, Holden is a brand of car, if you read my entire post, instead of being smart you would have known that.

Citizen A Hatten ...no-one is "being smart".  What generally works best is when asking for something of someone you go about it in the most polite way possible, particularly when it [the help] is expected freely.

My personal thoughts on SS Utes and their ilk is they are the 21st century equivalent of the HQ series....driven by brawn and not brain.....if they want to race the things at least get better load balance and traction.

They are a 'formula' waiting for disaster....;0

hmm. High HP pickup truck? Power going for "speed" and not "pulling"? Just asking. Havn't seen it here in the states.

Jafo,

I was trying to be as polite as possible.

I don't agree with your 'personal thoughts' but like you said they're you 'personal' thoughts.

Sleeping Dragon,

I apologise for calling you smart, though like i said to jafo, i was trying to be polite.

no harm done. Thanks. So does this Holden behave like a truck or like a car with a bed?

SD...yes, they are intended as work-horses....[Utes are an Aussie invention]...but some-how they became penis-substitutes for the 'challenged', being neither good at actual 'performance' nor work, being over-priced and too 'soft' for real work.

They 'might' be OK in 'freeway racing'...but you're better off with the V8 'Supercar' [sedan] version if you seriously want to go around corners...

I'm not quite sure if you're being sarcastic or not but...not all holdens look like the photo above but personally i like them best. They're feel more like a car, they just look different. From the books i've read about the 'states' i'd say they're alot like a pickup truck.

Sounds like NASCAR trucks. Tube frames and power with poor maneuverability. Thanks for the info.

We were posting at the same time. Not sarcastic, just inquisitive. I have no skills at walls but I think you could make a logon from a photo in Logon Studio.

Jafo,

I don't think they are soft and i don't mind the V8 supercars, but i still think that the SS utes are better. It seems though we don't agree on much, I hope we agree that holdens are better than fords

We posted at the same time again. Thanks for the idea, I did think of it, but i can't really 'supe' any cars up (digitally of course) properly.

The reason I was asking how it behaves is there is a real problem with a rear wheel drive vehicle that has no weight over the rear wheels. Some compensate by front wheel drive or four wheel drive, but this is not the purists' idea of racing, even on the street.

Hey Jafo,

Do they have streetracing anywhere near you, I've heard of it being done somewhere close to me, but i haven't actually seen or done it. It is illegal.

Americans did it a couple of times (One was the Typhoon) and they would blow the doors off of any other rear wheel drive pick up truck, but with no weight over the rear wheels, you lose traction on the start (drag racing) and have to baby it around corners, so generally they were only good for going 100 mph on the freeway and looking cool. I don't know about Holdens, but typically a truck should be a truck, where the power is in the low gears and torque for pulling.

Just my opinion

...and I'm often wrong. Ask anyone.

In Australia the only things we call trucks are what i think you would call a 'rig'. But i do agree (to the extent possible, with the name difference).
