Ice cream.

Middle of winter, but I'm still jonesin for ice cream. There's nothing like 5 scoops of classic vanilla with a half bottle of steaming hot fudge on it.

So with spring right around the corner, what are your favorite flavors or preparations of this treat that could unite the world if given a chance.

Favorite all-time is unfortunately no longer available, apparently. It was Ben & Jerry's Orange and Cream (I don't remember the exact name). Tasted like one of those 50/50 Orange Creamsicles.

Now my favorite is good ole fashion Haagen-Daz vanilla (though other premium brands of vanilla are also very good). I also really like Ben & Jerry's Cherry Garcia and the ones with peanut butter cups in them.

Another favorite from an odd source is the Rite-Aid (yes, Rite-Aid) brand of Pistachio. It is so addicting. I've tried premium brands of that flavor, but none grab me like the cheap cartons at Rite-Aid.

Now I am dreaming of Lappert's coconut and pineapple icecream. Yummmm!!! Nothing like grabbing a cone and heading down to the beach in Hawaii. Fresh sugary waffel cones made with local cane sugar.....I can almost taste that heavenly confection!!!

I'll look for Tillamonk now that I know what the bottle looks like from website. I'll also try some Haagen-Daz! Good! I've gotta throw out that scale too....

I guess I might be reviving this thread! Hope you don't mind SD?
I loved reading all this thread, I love ice cream! I didn't see this thread back in Feb. I was getting ready for vacation (on my favorite island)

I LOVE "Death by Chocolate" Store brand, which surprises me!

I "like" "red bean ice cream! I don't eat it much, tons of calories!
What woman doesn't watch her calories? If I don't nobody will..
have a great recipe for "red bean ice cream"! Will share if you want it.

My Fav is: Breyers Vanilla bean w/ DARK Hot Fudge, 1/2 cup or so, over 2 scoops ice cream! Have to eat it kinda fast! Or the fudge melts all the ice cream!
I love homemade ice cream, Cinnamon ice cream it tops!!

So you didn't mind I revived you thread about ice cream? Great!

I was making oreo cookie ice cream, yrs before you could buy it. I used a food processor and my freezer. My family loved it, We had a block party one time, in the fall, I made this and neighbors were offering to buy it from me. That's also how I started making the cinnamon ice cream! Served with mulled cider! (Now you are really living in Indiana)
I also have an easier way to make it: Buy your very favorite Vanilla ice cream (the good stuff) and use a whole package of oreo cookies and add half the semi-softened ice cream to a food processor and half the cookies and pulse it several times, pour that out into a big bowl and do it with the rest of the cookies & ice cream and pour them all together and refreeze (I always added justa little "real" vanilla to the mixture before refreezing.) This is good but not low in calories!

Well, I have a weak spot for ice cream in general but I think my favorite for the time has got to be ColdStone's Mud Pie Mojo...

In a waffle bowl so as to not lose any of the goodness...

Now, I wonder if they're open at 7 AM.....

Dunno if ya can get it over there in the States, but if you ever come across it anywhere, traditional Cornish ice cream is something special and should most certainly be tried...extra creamy ain't the word and falls well short.

If not, visit or import from Cornwall England

If any of you live in Connecticut, there is an Ice Cream place somewhere there called Peaches&Cream. Went there on vacation once. They have strawberry ice cream that tastes more like strawberries than actual strawberries.

I always liked that ice cream we made in science class back in high school.
