I just stopped offering them. So many people have them already I don't think there is anyone left who wants one and doesn't have one. It will certainly make it a bit lackluster when Gmail finally goes public.

Indeed. You can't give those things away anymore. The way it looks is they're getting ready to come out of beta testing and they're giving the beta testers lots of invites to spread around. They gave me fifty of them for crying out loud!
So it should be extremely easy to find an invite these days.
