Start Menu and Task bar Help

Hey im using WindowBlinds and i got a skin but everytime i apply the skin it doenst change my Taskbar or start menu...can anyone tell me what to do about that?

I bought and installed Windowblinds 4.5 and downloaded the GT3 skin. It worked, but eventually my "Om" Explorer bar icons from Style XP would appear and would not go away. I disabled Style XP, but the "Om" icons kept coming back. I deleted the "Om" icons and they still came back. I uninstalled Style XP and designated the GT3 toolbar to be used all the time. This seems to have worked, but now my taskbar and start menu will not accept the new skins. They change color with each new WindowBlinds skin, but the style doesn't change. Am I doing something wrong?

Hmmmm, have you tried to uninstall > reboot > reinstall Windowblinds? StyleXP can do some strange things to your computer, since it hacks your system files....
Also, I found that it sometimes helps (if the Windowblinds don't "stick") to change the WindowBLinds through the Desktop Properties (right-click on your Desktop > Properties > Appearance > and choose the Blind from the drop-down list under 'Windows and Buttons'.

Yeah i just figured out why its cause my taskbar was locked! right click on it and unlock it that was why it wouldnt skin the taskbar! thx

Do you have taskbar set to autohide, or are you running ObjectDock, DesktopX, or similar with the "Hide Taskbar" enabled by chance?

Normally, you put skins used with Stardock software in the Program Files sub-directory for the program.
You would put the skin in either the "Skins" or "Themes" folder inside the program folder, or in a case such as WindowBlinds - you put the folder which contains the skin files inside the WindowBlinds folder (because there is no Skins or Themes folder).
This may not be necessary, but it is a good practice to get into.
I don't use Bootskin, but if following the guidelines above, you would put the skins in "C:\Program Files\Stardock\Bootskin\(Skins or Themes)" folder (where "C" is the letter drive) - or "C:\Program Files\Stardock\Bootskin" folder if there is no Skins or Themes folder.
I hope this helps.

Download the newest version of WindowBlinds and uninstall the old one > reboot > reinstall. Or upgrade through Stardock Central.
