they freak out when you get into MSDOS/Command prompt

so funny. it started with a net send message to my friend saying "hi"
problem is that we arent supposed to be able to get into drive C: to access the command.com file right? wrong. easy enough to access it using any application out there. MORONS
ok, so i net send a message to my friend... that was yesterday...
today, 6th period, 2 security personelle come in to escort me to the friggin principals office. HA! i need no escort... i walk calmly to the office and sit down to wait.
chat a little with the security morons and find out that this is about MSDOS and me. quickly, i formulate a plan in my mind: bullshit em so much that they wont even know it.
so, finally, the principal calls me in and asks me to sit down, the two security morons on either side of me.
"so, do you know what this is about?"
"well kind of, steve [security moron #1] hinted that its about msdos stuff"
"yes, you see, we have disabled command prompt from these school computers for a reason, so that kids [pauses] cant harm the school's system and somehow, you managed to get into it and did something there..."
"yes?"
"and we feel that this may pose a threat to our system"
"*chuckle*"
"whats so funny?"
"well, you see, two things;
1. command prompt isnt disabled, its hidden in drive C: to which the system doesnt allow access.
2. MSDOS cant do much against xp. all i did was test sending a message to a friend using net send, it worked so i was like sweet!"
"yes and we feel that this can be a threat to us."
"sir, if i wanted to screw up the school system, there are alot easier ways of doing that. and if i wanted to screw it up, i would NOT use my account to do it from"
"hm..."
"see, on windows Xp, you disabled access to drive C:. when i am bored, i screw around... one day, while trying to load objects for lightwave into lightwave, i was forced to find a way to get into drive C:."
"yes...?"*takes notes*
"so, all i did was open lightwave, go file....open....browse... and in the address bar, type "C:". all that did was throw me to "my documents", i found this kind of funny since it should show "drive C: inaccessible" so i hit the "up one level" button and it took me back one level, i hit it a couple more times and Ooo... drive c: bingo! i opened lightwave and objects and i was able to load an object."
"yes? and how does this make you able to open command prompt?"
"same way i opened that i can open command.com... see? go windows/system32/command.com [opens it on hit computer]"
"i see... and how do you do this 'net send'thing?"
"*sigh* [type 'net send maloym test'] see? message arrives saying test"
"i see...."
*scribbles notes*
[i notice security morons leaning to see it too]
****bell rings****
"saved by the bell... can i go catch my bus? you can call me in tomorrow"
"ok, i will call you in around 3rd period"
"ok {[mutter] sheesh...}"
heart pounding, i pick up my backpack and head out the door... i walk by the front desk and notice the secretary staring at me with a dissaproving glance....

Ive done that too... Its fun! You can go into task manager and send someone a message so it pops up when they next log on to that computer, too.

Testing a system's flaws in security is not your 'job'. Being devious and invasive exceeds your 'rights' as a school computer user....I wouldn't be surprised or care that you were expelled.
It is the equivalent of going up on a 10 storey balcony.....look at the 'protection' of the 1000mm high ballustrade and 'prove' its failings by climbing over and jumping off..."hey, look...I broke through the 'security'".
An idiot is born every minute. Generally they do not enjoy longevity....

On a slightly different note I'm really tired of all the "expletive deleted" paranoid security crap at these schools, not so much talking about the computer, but things like THERE ARE GUARDS IN THE SCHOOL!! I went back to my old high school not too long ago to visit my old teachers and such during breaks (other graduates used to walk freely like this through the rooms even sit in on classes) As soon as Iwent through the first main doors 2 guards stopped me and told me I had to leave the building, the only person I could talk to was some the secretary at the office, who I had to argue with for 30 minutes just to get the principal to speak with me. (keep in mind ALL the staff knows me and had for 4+ years, save for the bumbling guards) The principal told me the biggest bunch of crap I've ever heard, about how me being there comprimises security and yada blah, I was even allowed to speak with the students. It's just pretty much retarded having graduated for less than 5 months and being escorted off the campus... These people need to quit acting like elementary schools are the grandiose epic idol monument of our time that must be kept clean from these evil 18+ people that didn't decide to pretend they never attended these schools or built relationships with the teachers they knew for 12 or so years. Whether you were normal, the class goth, the star jock, or the prom queen. Not to mention for all the "OMG PROTECT THE SCHOOL AND ITS STUDENTS FROM THESE INFIDELS INTRUDERS" they only give a "expletive deleted" between 8 am and 3 pm, then they could care less if they get shot or blown up or even worse, *shudders* talked to or visited.

So as for your problem, they know you're capable of getting around some of their stuff, and that you comprimised the safety of their C: drive..... just accept what you are or aren't allowed to do, APOLOGIZE TO THEM FOR IT! and tell them you'll be sure not to mess around with what you're not supposed to, then they'll be happy, and you can quit worrying.
Decent people are suckers for common decency, if you admit being wrong to do it thats generally going to satisfy them, if it's voluntary.

Corporations spend milions of dollars on security. Schools don't have that kind of money to waste on security. Anyone trying to get around the system just to show that they can should be dealt with swiftly and harshly. Thousands of schools means thousands of students trying to test the boundaries which means millions of dollars protecting against adolescent stupidity.
I am also curious as too why school administrators are morons because someone attempted to hack into a school system. Nothing personal but I see the moron as the person that broke the law, just because they could.
