Personal Pages open to more people...

Create your own personal home page

Sunday, December 26, 2004 by Frogboy | Discussion: WinCustomize News

We have extended the number of people who can create personal pages.  Before only WinCustomize subscribers could create personal pages.  Now, Active Stardock customers can as well (if you have an active Object Desktop.net subscription or purchased a Stardock product in the past year).

Your personal pages allow you to have a home page here on WinCustomize complete with your own sub-domain.  We will be adding even more features to them in the next few weeks such as personal photo albums, custom HTML areas, and more.

Here's mine: http://frogboy.wincustomize.com

Great idea Brad...now if I could only find out how to upload stuff to my site. I've added the 3 jpeg's 3 times and they're still not showing up. Also, I can't seem to locate any rules and regs section for the personal sites...and I know there has to be one somewhere.

Will this be an open site for anyone ?, will I be able to see others submissions like the DA site, will people be able to post anything they want? or is this just for skinners and the work that the moderators have approved?

You can recommend other people's skins and articles. See your own articles and responses to others. Keep track of what other skinners are doing by using the watch function. Check out all your personal stats. Have guests leave you messages. Lots more features will be added soon. Go for it!

Open site for anyone? On WC, not just anyone can have a personal site. Only those with subscriptions, apprentice access or higher, or has purchased a Stardock product recently can have a personal page.

But yea, the plan is to allow people to submit to their personal pages anything they'd like and have it part of their gallery.  There will also be a Album tab soon so people can put their personal pictures up there too.

Fairy: Most people aren't skinners. But you can still write articles, recommend other people's skins and themes, and create custom links to sites you visit.

WOM isn't a skinner, so if you want to get an idea of what a sit looks like for a non-skinner, heres mine. If not, don't click the link.

How long does the moderation period take, as a rule? Are my personal site logos/pictures being monitored also?

I asked about being able to add Walls and Logons (for example) in one of the discussion arenas and The Green Reaper said that the only things allowed in the site were items that were already on WinCustomize...so are you saying that we will be able to add anything (tasteful,of course) to our personal site?

As for writing articles, I have a great one (my opinion) on Object Dock Plus, but it keeps telling me I'm not authorized to submit it. I own ODNT, CursorSP +, OB Dock + and a WinCustomize subscription. What do I have to have to submit an article????
I have submitted at least 10 different items and only received an email from moderation on 2 of them (I didn't send the completed Logon as my JPEG).

Also, I can't get into my personal page to edit the pic's....again "not authorized"?????? and it won't let me establish a new site....SO WHATS A GUY TO DO??????
