a thread about food and screenshots..cool shiz..in the future i will list the links and authors to give them that there credit..in some parts..from what i did sometimes..you cant really remember the link for example on where you mighta gotten that wallpaper..im down with that one a day shizniz..its like happening dude

Seeing as you can't download a screenshot, there seems little reason to keep older shots in the library. I would dump anything older than a month or two. It would free up a little server space if nothing else.

I think that idea was floated a while back, but a bunch of people started saying "spyware...no way" ...thing is, it was'nt going to be forced on you, but an option you could choose... (IIRC)
Don't know what became of that idea though ...perhaps they'll make it a part of WC2K5?

Allright, I hacked about 1/3 of them. I will continue to whittle away at them till I'm down to a couple dozen. Some of them mean something to me, though, so I will keep many. Although, I have them in my own computer. Maybe I'll chip em down to 10. Yeah, that's what I'll do. Anyone care?

~Well, I read all the comments and I was just going to refrain from giving my opinion but wtf I paid my dues so I guess I will have my say. I do agree with 80% of your opinions...I take days setting up a screen shot. I like mixing and matching everyones work . I also admire the work that goes into the making of windowblinds , walls, objects etc. I also agree that 1 or 2 screen shots a weeks are enough, and at least list the name or the blind and objects in the shot..links are even better. Numerous times I've left comments asking about a blind etc, and never got a reply. BUT....if your going to make this a site for just the " Elite" then I guess so be it. Makes no difference to me. But a village of Kings without Citizens...well, pass the cheesecake , and carry on.

I like cheesecake. I make a creamy peanut butter pie that has 1 lb of cream cheese and 4 cups of whipping cream. mmmm. My mother make a pumpkin / cream cheese pie that is out of this world. It's amazing that I only weigh 185 at 6'.
Fairyy, I am not an elite. I have no skill in skinning and only recently bought a photoshop type product to play. I will leave the screenshots that I am proud of, because it does take time to scour all of the skins, find the right matches, download the items, assemble them and give credit to the authors. And the comments are worth a lot to me. BUT I am also a member of this community, and in any community you have to be, well, kind to your neighbors. If I can free up a bit of bandwidth at no expense to me, I can and will do that. I do consider you "elite" because of your kind words, honesty, and killer shots. Please don't think that any one is saying this site is only for skinners. It's just that some "super" people abuse this site and will abuse many things for some unknowwn, weirded out motive of a reason. I like your shots. I like your words. Stay and be happy. Like me.

Show off your favorite desktop configuration by uploading a screenshot of your desktop!.
This is the description at top of screenshots library. It doesnt mention any rules or the number of screenshots allowed per day, week or month. Either change name of libray, change description of library or add some rules for library. Until that happens stop ya bitching about what or how many screenshots are uploaded. How come no-one ever bitches about apple mac screenshots,,isnt this a windows site. That would be a more valid grievance surely. The 'bitching' is in reference to those who pathologically spam the uploads in a vain attempt of advancement who achieve nothing other than to disadvantage all the other users of the site who just want to upload one screenshot now and then and NOT have it/them bumped into obscurity by the omnipresent.

buzzh58 you have missed the point of the thread comletely...it is assumed that people would excersize restraint.A NORMAL person dosnt change his freakin' desktop every day,much less every few hours.(how can it be your favorite 'configuration'if it only last a few hours or days?)
Thats the whole point of this thread...maybe we need some more stringent uploading guidelines.And if your gonna submit,have some courtesy for the lookers and the authors by at least telling everyone what they are looking at!
If you can upload a ss after reading this thread without caring about any of that then.....

buzzh58, that's exactly what the description is... "favorite desktop configuration" mahing more than one FAVORITE a day heck - a week, makes it kind of... not favorite? I mean... if you really like it, you have spent a lot of time time setting it up, how come you can have more that one of that a week!
In my opinion the library description says it all and any more than 1 upload a day chould be rejected.

Absolutely right I.R and Skin ! My favorite desktop stays on a week or more, I've seen some people d/l at least 5 or more SS in a day, then when an awesome SS comes along u almost miss it coz its bumped to the bottom of page or the next page >

My point is ,, that at the moment there arent any rules as such, only common sense and unless rules are made you are always gonna get people that go overboard. So make rules otherwise stop bitching about those people. And Jafo if you do have the power of approval why did you approve so many screenshots by a certain person. If youd exercised your responsibility properly this thread would never have needed to be started.

You see that says it all....."I may or may not approve it this week or next" SO....WHO approved Butch 123's Screen shots that allowed him to have 5 or 6 in a row so his shots exceded more that 10,000 since last October? You all fail to see the point, you allowed it to continue...why didnt you just change the rules ?

I'm sure the rules will be set and enforced if common sense will keep failing. The thread is most probably to make people think. Free will and a brain is a powerfull tool.

I put a lot of work in them. expecially since I usethe look for at least a few weeks at a time now (when I first started I would change my desktop almost every day).
Anyway, I have been here for a while and to me, while I might have broke this code, it doesn't make much sense to upload 3 or more screenshots in a day. It is not within the ature of the site actually do do so.
basically, what I am saying is that those who been here for a while should know better. I will do my best to name authors in screenshots and try to provide links at most to their works.
