Screensavers???

When will the 1st Screensavers be posted here at WC? How big will they be? Will they have animation for the new 3D grapic cards in most folks computers (like mine)? Will they have advance 3D like NVIDIA does?? Last question- Who will make them?? Xav_73, Adni18 & or Apocalypse_67?? (just to name a few of my all time favorite's here at WC.)

The poll has just ended, let them at least get some time to get it set up (if at all) before we start pouring out the questions...

 

Dunno what the hub-bob is all about anyway - screensavers are only used when your machine is not being used. I mean does it really matter what it looks like then?
Plus... why use screensavers at all? Are your monitor that old!?

I love and use screensavers purely for the entertainment value. Have tons of them and change em up all the time depending on mood and season, the same way I change my WB,cursors and icons. Hope we do end up with a screensaver section.

Your monitor will love you more if you DON'T make it display screensavers in its 'down time'.

Energy-saving [environmentally friendly] blank screens are far more valid in our modern greenhouse-gas existence.

Forcing a monitor to draw constantly [with a screensaver] will actually shorten the monitor's life, not lengthen it, as burn-in is not a factor on modern screens.....

I don't think any of our regular skinners here make screensavers at all. Maybe the next poll question should be "Would you make original screensavers if we added a screensaver library?" I have a feeling we would be rejecting a lot of screensavers downloaded from screensaver sites and submitted here without permission.

Unless Stardock comes up with a way to make screensavers easily (drag-drop, push-this-button kinda way), I doubt we would have many - if any - original screensavers submitted.

I got great ideas about screensavers. Entertainment + Monitor Friendly original screen savers. I can make them.

I like the idea of Screensavers. With all the great talent here with Wallpapers,etc., i thought who better to make'em but our favorite art creators here. Haven't u notice how skills keep inproving around here? Since i frist found this site WC has change at least so many times i can hardly keep up & now they keep upgrading everything Icons,WB,Wallpapers,etc.., Which stands to reason with faster Grapic cards & better monitors to handle the load even Rams are getting larger. If you have to upgrade this is a great site for source information on such things to keep up with visional wise anyway.Sorry for the long wind of this. I'm not an artist but i am a big fan of all that WC offers here. What do u guys think?
